M. V. Jayarajan (born 24 May 1960) [2] is an Indian politician and a member of the Communist Party of India (Marxist )Kerala State Committee and secretary of the Communist Party of India (Marxist )Kannur District Committee. [3] [4]
He was born to V. K. Kumaran and M. V. Devaki on 24 May 1960. He is a graduate and has an LLB. He married K. Leena and has two sons.
He held the positions of all India joint secretary and state secretary of DYFI, the youth wing of CPI(M), during his youth.
He was elected to the Kerala Legislative Assembly in 1996 and 2001 from Edakkad constituency in Kannur District. He is also known for serving as the private secretary of the Chief minister of Kerala Pinarayi Vijayan for a few years, in one of the rare instances in which a high-profile leader has served in that post. M.V. Jayarajan quit the position as Chief Minister's Private Secretary in 2019, when he was elected as the district secretary of Kannur for CPI(M) to replace P. Jayarajan.
Erambala Krishnan Nayanar was an Indian politician who served as the 9th chief minister of Kerala from 1980 to 1981, 1987 to 1991 and again from 1996 to 2001. He served in that position for a total of 10 years, 11 months and 22 days, thus making him the longest-served Chief Minister of Kerala. He was a senior leader of the Communist Party of India (Marxist).
The Left Democratic Front (LDF) is an alliance of left-wing political parties in the state of Kerala, India. It is the current ruling political alliance of Kerala, since 2016. It is one of the two major political alliances in Kerala, the other being Indian National Congress-led United Democratic Front, each of which has been in power alternately for the last four decades. LDF has won the elections to the State Legislature of Kerala in the years 1980, 1987, 1996, 2006, 2016 and had a historic re-election in 2021 where an incumbent government was re-elected for first time in 40 years. LDF has won 6 out of 10 elections since the formation of the alliance in 1980. The alliance consists of CPI(M), CPI and various smaller parties.
Communist Marxist Party (CMP) was a political party in Kerala. The party was founded in 1986 when M. V. Raghavan was expelled from the CPI(M) due to a grave difference of opinion regarding the formation of alliances with the IUML. His support for forming a united front with non-secular parties such as the Muslim League in order to take on alliances led by the INC was ultimately rejected by the CPI(M) leadership. He was subsequently expelled from the Party.

He previously served as the State Minister for Local self-governments and Excise in the Second Vijayan Ministry from 2021 to 2022.
P. Jayarajan is a member of the CPI(M) Kerala state committee and former member of the Kerala Legislative Assembly who represented Koothuparamba constituency from 2001 to 2011. He served as the secretary of CPI(M) Kannur District Committee from 2010 until he was replaced by M.V. Jayarajan in March 2019.
