MDM Recordings Inc. is a Canadian independent record label, distributor and artist management company founded by 2014 Canadian Country Music Association Record Company Person of the Year Mike Denney [1] and distributed through Universal Music Canada.
Founded in 2008 and based in Toronto, Ontario, [2] MDM Recordings works primarily with Canadian Country music artists such as Juno Award nominee Chad Brownlee, 2014 CCMA Female Artist of the Year Jess Moskaluke and 2014 CCMA Discovery Award winners The Lovelocks. [3]
MDM Recordings partnered with award-winning producer/musician Mitch Merrett in 2009, and launched new music publishing business Little Red Bungalow in partnership with CCS Rights Management in 2012. [4] In 2014, MDM Recordings expanded operations to Australia with a new partnership with the Maven Agency (distributed by Sony Music Australia) as well as the United States through the addition of Nashville-based representative Chad Green. In August 2014, Jess Moskaluke's single "Cheap Wine and Cigarettes" was certified Gold by Music Canada, [7] marking a first for MDM Recordings, and making her the first solo female Canadian Country artist to achieve this milestone since Shania Twain. [8]
In October 2014, MDM Recordings announced the first cross-Canada tour composed entirely of MDM Recordings artists. Chad Brownlee's headlining "When The Lights Go Down Tour", supported by Jess Moskaluke and Bobby Wills, will travel coast-to-coast beginning in March 2015. [9]
Dallas Hendry Smith is a Canadian country music singer, songwriter and current lead singer for the hard rock band Default. He is currently signed to 604 Records and Universal Music Canada and released his solo debut country album, Jumped Right In, on May 22, 2012. The album has since sold over 100,000 digital singles and generated five singles on the Canadian Hot 100. Jumped Right In was nominated as Country Album of the Year at the 2013 Juno Awards.
Jason Blaine is a Canadian country music singer/songwriter from Pembroke, Ontario. Mitch Merrett is a record producer, music manager, and country musician from Langley, British Columbia, Canada. He plays a Gibson Robot Guitar. He studied music at Selkirk College in Nelson, graduating from the Contemporary Music and Technology program with a major in performance. In 2007, he and Tom McKillip were named Record Producers of the Year by the Canadian Country Music Association (CCMA) for their work on Aaron Pritchett's album Big Wheel. Also that year, the Society of Composers, Authors and Music Publishers of Canada named Merrett, Pritchett, and Deric Ruttan Songwriters of the Year for their work on "Hold My Beer," a song that appeared on Big Wheel and that a CBC News reporter called "irreverent." In 2010, Merrett produced Chad Brownlee's self-titled debut album. In 2012, the British Columbia Country Music Association named Merrett Producer of the Year.
The Boots and Hearts Music Festival is a multi-day country music and camping festival produced by Republic Live Inc. and owned by Stan and Eva Dunford. The 2020 festival is scheduled for August 6–9. The festival is held annually at the custom-designed festival grounds, Burl's Creek Event Grounds in Oro-Medonte, Ontario, Canada. Since its inception in 2012, Boots and Hearts has quickly grown to become Canada's largest country music festival and is considered the second largest music festival in North America behind only the CMA Music Festival. The festival offers an Emerging Artist Showcase, multiple stages, VIP offerings, with as many as 45,000+ festival-goers each day for the 4 days. Boots and Hearts was awarded the CCMA "Festival of the Year" Award in 2014, 2015, and 2016, as well as the Canadian Music Week "Festival of the Year" in 2015, with repeat nominations in 2016, 2017 and 2018. In 2019 and 2020, they were nominated for "Festival of the Year" by the ACMA's.

Met with positive critical and commercial success, the song became Moskaluke's first to chart on the Canadian Hot 100, as well as her first to be certified by Music Canada.

Hunter Brothers is a Canadian country music group from Shaunavon, Saskatchewan composed of brothers Luke, J.J., Ty, Brock and Dusty Hunter. They signed with Open Road Recordings and released their debut single, "El Dorado", in February 2016. It debuted on the Billboard Canada Country chart in March 2016. The band earned their first Top 10 single at Canadian country radio with their hit "Born and Raised".
