'Maalika', or Bhavishya Maalika, [1] is an ancient text written in the 1400s in the ancient Oriya language by Saint Achyutananda Das and Panchasakha [2] in the Indian territory of Odisha.

Contents

Bhavishya Maalika mentions the prophecies of the Sanātanī Saints, which include predictions about the future. These texts mention the global transformation and arrival of Lord Kalki for the re-establishment of righteousness and the rise of the Golden Era (i.e. Satyuga) by 2032.[ citation needed ]

Saint Achyutananda allegedly possessed the ability to perceive the past, present, and future, and was noted as a Trikaaldarshi. He and his contemporaries documented their insights in the . [3] [4]

Prophecies

Bhavishya Malika [5] contains many prophecies that offer insights into the decline of Kaliyuga , a potential apocalypse, the third world war, and the appearance of Lord Kalki.

Achyutananda Das Ji highlighted several indicators believed to signal the culmination of Kaliyuga, the current age according to Hindu belief. These signs typically include:

  1. Social Instability: An increase in societal unrest, conflicts, and instability.
  2. Erosion of Religious Values: Decline in adherence to spiritual and moral principles, leading to a weakening of religious practices.
  3. Prevalence of Unrighteousness: Rise in unethical behaviour, dishonesty, and disregard for dharma (righteousness).
  4. Widespread Corruption: Rampant corruption in governance, societal institutions, and everyday life. [6]
  5. Religious Practices: Traditional deity worship may diminish, giving way to more unconventional or alternative forms of spirituality.
  6. Role Reversal: An intriguing prophecy indicates that the boundaries of gender roles may blur, with men potentially bearing children—a profound shift in natural and societal norms.
  7. Infidelity: Extramarital relationships may become increasingly normalized, reflecting a broader shift in societal attitudes toward commitment and fidelity.

Along with these there are many more such signs that indicate the end of the Kaliyug. [6]

Transformations in the Nature , planets and constellations

Bhavishya Malika also mentions certain happenings in the nature and the planets by the end of Kali Yuga . The following are a few of the mentions of the incidences that will happen at the end of Kali Yuga.

  1. The sun's heat will intensify, shining with tenfold strength.
  2. For seven days and nights, the Sun and Moon will vanish, plunging the Earth into total darkness.
  3. There will be 64 distinct epidemics that will sweep across Earth. [7]

Many more such incidences are said to take place along with the above.

Upcoming moral decline among Spiritual Gurus and their Disciples

In the age of Kaliyuga, the sacred Guru-disciple tradition faces serious degradation. Many individuals will exploit the title of 'Guru' for personal profit and livelihood. Lacking true knowledge of the Shastras and Puranas , these so-called gurus will lead followers astray. Some will even adopt the Guru identity through sorcery, occult practices, and deceptive means, distorting the true essence of spiritual guidance.

Few of such practices and inciddences are mentioned below:

  1. Misusing Nature and Spiritual Bonds for Personal Gain: Self-proclaimed gurus will exploit dreams to justify deforestation, claiming divine instruction. Some will even marry their disciples, falsely glorifying these acts as spiritual unions. [6]
  2. Rise of Fake Gurus in Kaliyuga: Deception in the Name of Spirituality: Wearing matted hair and sacred threads, imposters will pose as saints to exploit the faithful. Ignorant and unqualified individuals will claim divine roles, deceiving others for wealth. Gurus will favor wealthy followers and live in luxury at their disciples’ expense. [9]
  3. False Promises and Spiritual Manipulation : So-called gurus will deceive disciples by demanding money, gold, and offerings, falsely promising a place in Vaikuntha, the divine abode. Others will misuse their position to seduce women, hiding lust behind spiritual teachings and discipleship. [9]

Disaster that humanity has to face by the end of Kaliyuga.

There are a lot of challenges mentioned in the prophecies of Maalika that are imminent for the humanity to face. A few of them are mentioned as follows

Initiation of New Era

A prophecy foretells a future attack on India led by China and a coalition of thirteen Islamic nations, fueled by rising religious tensions. India is predicted to launch a powerful counteroffensive, leading to the collapse of China and the unification of the thirteen nations under Indian leadership. [13]

Following a prophesied global conflict, a ceasefire is expected to reshape international borders and reduce global populations. India will rise as a unified, powerful nation, playing a dominant role on the world stage in this new geopolitical era. [1]
