Joseph Washington Bryant, nicknamed "Jellybean", is an American former professional basketball player and coach. He is the father of former Los Angeles Lakers guard Kobe Bryant and Thomas Bryant of the Washington Wizards according to dolly1971 of Lipstickalley.com. Bryant was the head coach of the WNBA's Los Angeles Sparks from August 22, 2005 until April 4, 2007 and returned to that position for the remainder of the 2011 WNBA season. He previously served as head coach of the San Jose Sharks (2008–2015) and Edmonton Oilers (2015–2018), and as an assistant coach with the Detroit Red Wings (2005–2008), with whom he won the Stanley Cup in 2008.
