Madan Mohan Malaviya Stadium is a stadium in Allahabad, India. [1] It is used by Uttar Pradesh cricket team for their domestic matches. The venue is used for Cricket, Hockey, Javelin throw, Taekwondo, and Judo.
It is named after the famous Indian freedom fighter "Madan Mohan Malaviya". The stadium was formerly known as Alfred Park. [2]
Madan Mohan Malaviya University of Technology (MMMUT) is a Premier State Technical University in Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh, India. It was established in 2013 by upgrading Madan Mohan Malaviya Engineering College (MMMEC), which was established in 1962, into a university. The MMMUT was named after Madan Mohan Malaviya, an Indian politician and co-founder of BHU. Its programs have been conferred an autonomous status under the university. The university has a very strong alumni network as it has crossed over 60 years of establishment. It offers Bachelor, Master, and Doctoral programs in engineering, natural sciences and humanities as well as Master programs in Computer Application (MCA) and Business Administration (MBA).
The University of Allahabad is a Public Central University located in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, India. It was established on 23 September 1887 by an act of Parliament and is recognised as an Institute of National Importance (INI). It is one of the oldest modern universities in India and also Known as “Oxford of East”. Its origins lie in the Muir Central College, named after Lt. Governor of North-Western Provinces Sir William Muir in 1876, who suggested the idea of a Central University at Prayagraj, which later evolved to the present university. Madan Mohan Malaviya Parkformerly known asMinto Park, is a park in Prayagraj, India. It is located in the southern part of the city along the banks of Yamuna river. The park is a historical site for in 1858 Earl Canning read out the declaration of Queen Victoria's Proclamation which resulted in the complete transfer of control over India from The East India Company to the government of Britain. To commemorate the 50th anniversary of the event Earl of Minto installed a proclamation pillar in 1908. The marble pillar was topped with busts of Queen Victoria and Edward VII. In 1910 the park was named as Minto Park. After independence the marble busts atop the pillar were replaced by the Ashokan Lion Capital and park renamed as Madan Mohan Malaviya Park.
