Madurai Muthu is an Indian stand-up comedian. He rose to prominence and limelight after taking part in Sun TV's reality stand-up comedy television program Asatha Povadhu Yaaru, where he received a career breakthrough for his stand-up comedy. Despite having got a massive fan-following through Sun TV, he apparently joined it's rival channel Star Vijay, in which he is portrayed as the face of the channel as he predominantly appears in reality television programmes aired in Star Vijay. [1] He is well known for appearing on the comedy-cooking show Cooku With Comali . He is also very well known for his property jokes, as he often uses props and tools to crack jokes in order to relate with the audience, which has become a go-to most sought after trademark style of him. Biography

Muthu's wife Vaiyyammal died in a fatal car accident in 2016. [4] According to media sources and reports, she was traveling to Pilliyarpatti temple near Thiruppathur in Sivaganga district in her car, but her car ended up in an accident after colliding on a tree and she died on the spot. [5] [6]

Career

He established himself with his hilarious stand-up comedy performances by taking part in Sun TV's reality television show Asatha Povadhu Yaaru. It was at Asatha Povadhu Yaaru, he made a formidable collaboration with fellow standup comedian Kovai Guna and both of them gained a huge fan-following for their chemistry during their comical performances. [7] [8] [9] Madurai Muthu over the years built a reputation for his innovative creative thinking and thought process for elevating the curiosity among the audience through his out-of-the box thinking approach in delivering stand-up comedy by incorporating property jokes. He also made the habit to spontaneously bring up props to crack jokes while also propelling the audience to empower different thinking patterns. He also began compiling books and apparently recorded the jokes in order for him to conveniently incorporate them in impromptu stage speeches. [10]

He was one of the main contestants of the season 2 of the Cooku With Comali which was broadcast in Star Vijay. He entered the season 3 of the Cooku with Comali as one of the frequent guest comalis of the season. He was invited as a special guest for the season 5 of the Cooku with Comali. He also served as a judge in the Comedy Raja Kalakkal Rani . He also served as a judge in season 3 and season 4 of the Kalakka Povathu Yaaru? Champions . He also served as a judge in season 9, season 10 of the Tamil-language reality stand-up comedy television program Kalakka Povathu Yaaru? . [11] He was rumoured to have been approached as one of the possible contestants for the season 6 of the Bigg Boss Tamil. [12]

Ramanathan holds a degree in Law from the Madurai Law College. Ramanathan has been invited by organizations in India and in countries like Singapore, UAE and Kuwait and Bahrain to perform in front of their Tamil speaking audience with his powerful and entertaining oratory skills.

Kalakka Povathu Yaaru? is a 2024 2025 Indian Tamil-language reality stand-up comedy television show that airs on Star Vijay and streams on Disney+ Hotstar. Over eighteen years, Kalakka Povathu Yaaru? has had nine seasons. The winners of the show are awarded the title of Comedy King and cash prizes. The first season premiered in 2005.

He previously worked for Raj TV and Kalaignar TV. His debut film was En Kadhal Devathai was ready to release in 2011, it remained unreleased. In 2020, he acted in a second movie Kannum Kannum Kollaiyadithaal directed by Desingh Periyasamy with Dulquer Salmaan playing the lead role.

Erode Mahesh is an Indian television presenter, actor, writer, comedian, video jockey and educator. He is well known for his works in the television field and is currently serving as one of the judges in the comedy premiere show, Kalakka Povathu Yaaru? which is broadcast on Star Vijay alongside Thadi Balaji, Priyanka Deshpande, Mimicry Sethu and Aarthi. Mahesh has also acted in supportive roles through few Tamil films after making his film acting debut in the 2012 film, Sattam Oru Iruttarai. He also appeared as a lead actor in the 2017 film, Inayathalam alongside Ganesh Venkatraman. Erode Mahesh is also known for his Tamil phrase, Adra Adra when encouraging the performers in television shows.

Mimicry Sethu also known as Sethu Subbu is an Indian dubbing artist, television presenter, actor, comedian, video jockey and mimicry artist. He is well known for his works in the television field. He rose to prominence for his ability to entertain crowds with his mimicry performances by enacting vocal variations of several high-profile celebrities in television reality shows and in social media platforms. He received the adjective and nickname "Mimicry" for his portrayal of mimicry style which had since then become his stage name and professional name.

Kovai Guna also known as Coimbatore Guna was an Indian stand-up comedian, actor and mimicry artist. He was well known for his ability to present stand-up comedy in the television reality shows. He rose to prominence for his ability to entertain crowds with his mimicry performances and appropriate body language in television reality shows.
