Mahat Raghavendra is an Indian actor who works across Tamil, Telugu and Hindi cinema. He is best known for his supporting roles in the heist thriller film, Mankatha (2011), the action drama, Jilla (2014) and as lead actor in the Double XL (2022) [1] [2]
After finishing a degree at Hindustan College of Arts and Science, Raghavendra pursued a career in films. Prior to his first full-fledged acting role, Raghavendra was seen as a background artiste in Vallavan (2006) and Kaalai (2008), two films starring his childhood friend, Silambarasan. [3] He was initially set to make his debut in a Tamil remake of the successful Telugu film, Ullasamga Utsahamga (2008). But unfortunately the venture was dropped. [4] Raghavendra was signed to portray a role in Venkat Prabhu's action thriller Mankatha (2011) which featured an ensemble cast including Ajith Kumar, Arjun and Vaibhav. Raghavendra appeared as a Dharavi bar owner and the film opened to critical and commercial acclaim in August 2011. [5] For his performance in the film, Raghavendra was recognised as the year's Best Male Debut Actor from the Edison Awards committee. [4]
Raghavendra played his first lead role in the Telugu film, Backbench Student (2013), where he appeared alongside Piaa Bajpai and Archana Kavi. He was cast in the film after the makers were impressed after seeing an interview of the actor during his promotions for Mankatha. [6] [7] [8] He then featured in the fantasy comedy Bunny n Cherry (2013) alongside Prince Cecil. [9] Raghavendra made a return to Tamil films with Jilla (2013), starring alongside Mohanlal and Vijay, in a supporting role. [10] Raghavendra continued to star in small budget ventures including Ladies & Gentlemen (2015) and Run (2016), where he made a guest appearance. [11] Mahat featured in Simbu, Megha Akash Starrer Vantha Rajavathaan Varuven Tamil Movie, which was released in February 2019.
Aatla Arjun Reddy directorial Cycle, a Telugu Movie, was released in January 2021 featuring Mahat and Punarnavi. Currently, he is shooting for his portions in 3 Tamil Movies namely Kettavanu Per Edutha Nallavanda, Ivan Than Uthaman, and Kaadhal Conditions Apply.
A light-hearted, breezy romantic drama is in the making, which will have Mahat and Sana. [12] Kadhal Conditions Apply is directed by debutant Arvind R.
Mahat completed his schooling from Zion Matriculation School, Kodaikanal. He went on to graduate from Hindustan College of Arts & Science, Padur. Mahat's father Venkata Suryanarayana is a chemical engineer. His mother Umadevi Garimella is an ex-employee of the prestigious Commonwealth of Nations. She holds a master's degree in Biochemistry. He has an elder sister, Renu.
Mahat began dating actress, model Prachi Mishra, [13] a former Miss India 2012 , in 2017. The pair became engaged in April 2019. [14] Raghavendra married Prachi Mishra on 1 February 2020. [15] Their son Adiyaman Raghavendra was born on 7 June 2021.

Silambarasan Thesingu Rajendar, nicknamed as Simbu or his initials S.T. R. and known as Little Super Star, is an Indian actor, filmmaker and musician in Tamil cinema. He is the eldest son of actor and director T. Rajendar. He began his acting career by playing roles as a child artist in films directed by his father, before his first lead role in his father's Kadhal Azhivathillai (2002).
Kaalai (transl. Bull) is a 2008 Indian Tamil-language action film directed by Tarun Gopi. The lead roles are played by Silambarasan and Vedhika. Supporting roles are played by Sangeetha, Seema, Santhanam, Lal and Sulile Kumar. The film's score and soundtrack were composed by G. V. Prakash Kumar.
Vinnaithaandi Varuvaayaa is a 2010 Indian Tamil-language musical romantic drama film written and directed by Gautham Vasudev Menon, starring Silambarasan and Trisha. Jointly produced by Elred Kumar, Jayaraman, VTV Ganesh and P. Madan under the banner Escape Artists Motion Pictures and RS Infotainment, the film was distributed by Udhayanidhi Stalin's Red Giant Movies. The story was simultaneously shot in Telugu as Ye Maaya Chesave, starring Naga Chaitanya and Samantha, however, with a different cast.
Mankatha (transl. Gambling) is a 2011 Indian Tamil-language action thriller film written and directed by Venkat Prabhu, and produced by Dayanidhi Azhagiri under Cloud Nine Movies. The film stars Ajith Kumar, in his 50th credited film, leading an ensemble cast which includes Arjun Sarja, Trisha Krishnan, Lakshmi Rai, Anjali, Andrea Jeremiah, Ashwin Kakumanu, Vaibhav, Premji Amaren, Mahat Raghavendra, Jayaprakash, Aravind Akash and Subbu Panchu. Yuvan Shankar Raja composed the musical score and soundtrack, with Sakthi Saravanan working as the cinematographer and the duo Praveen K. L. and N. B. Srikanth as editors. Set in Mumbai, the film revolves around a heist of cricket betting money, carried out by a gang of four thieves, who are joined by a fifth unknown man, and its aftermath.

A remake of his own Telugu film Vedam (2010), the film features an ensemble cast of Silambarasan, Bharath, Prakash Raj, Anushka Shetty, Santhanam, Sonia Agarwal and Saranya Ponvannan. The score and soundtrack were composed by Yuvan Shankar Raja, while cinematography and editing were handled by Nirav Shah and Anthony, respectively. The film, jointly produced by VTV Ganesh and R. Ganesh, and was distributed by Dayanidhi Azhagiri's Cloud Nine Movies.

Osthe is a 2011 Indian Tamil-language action comedy film directed by S. Dharani, a remake of the 2010 Bollywood film Dabangg. It stars Silambarasan, Richa Gangopadhyay, Sonu Sood, Jithan Ramesh, Santhanam, VTV Ganesh, Nassar and Revathi. Osthe tells the story of a fearless police officer, "Osthi" Velan (Silambarasan), and his troubled relationship with his stepfather and half-brother as he embarks on a mission to take down a corrupt politician. Sonu Sood reprised his role from Dabangg.

Anbanavan Asaradhavan Adangadhavan, also known as AAA, is a 2017 Indian Tamil-language action comedy film, written and directed by Adhik Ravichandran and produced by S. Michael Rayappan. The film stars Silambarasan in a triple role, along with Tamannaah Bhatia and Shriya Saran. This film marks Silambarasan's first triple role film. The film has music composed by Yuvan Shankar Raja, with Krishnan Vasant and Ruben handling the cinematography and editing, respectively.
Bigg Boss 2 was the second season of the reality television series, Bigg Boss, and was hosted by Kamal Haasan. The season had 17 housemates, and was filmed with 60 cameras. It ran for 15 weeks, and aired on Star Vijay weekdays from 9–10:30 am and 9–11:00 pm on weekends. Hotstar provided content not aired on television and provided Fun Unlimited, a parallel weekly programme. Hosted by Rio Raj, it humorously described events in the house.
Maanaadu is a 2021 Indian Tamil-language science fiction political action thriller film directed by Venkat Prabhu and produced by Suresh Kamatchi. The film stars Silambarasan, leading an ensemble cast which includes S. J. Suryah, Kalyani Priyadarshan, S. A. Chandrasekhar, Y. G. Mahendran, Karunakaran, Premgi Amaren, Aravind Akash and Anjena Kirti. It follows an NRI and a police officer who are trapped in a time loop, on the day of a public conference, and forced to live the same day over and over again.
Vantha Rajavathaan Varuven is a Tamil-language action comedy film directed by Sundar C. and produced by Lyca Productions. A remake of the Telugu film Attarintiki Daredi (2013), the film stars Silambarasan, Ramya Krishnan, Prabhu, Nassar, Megha Akash, and Catherine Tresa, with Mahat Raghavendra and Yogi Babu, among others, in supporting roles. Hiphop Tamizha composes the film's music. The title of the film is taken from a famous dialogue by Silambarasan in the film Chekka Chivantha Vaanam (2018).

Osthe is the soundtrack album for 2011 Tamil film of the same name starring Silambarasan, Richa Gangopadhyay, Sonu Sood, Jithan Ramesh, Santhanam, VTV Ganesh, Nassar and Revathi. Osthe's soundtrack album and background score were composed by S. Thaman in his first collaboration with Silambarasan and Dharani, instead of Dharani's usual collaboration with Vidyasagar. Silambarasan said that composer Yuvan Shankar Raja, with whom he usually collaborates, had suggested signing Thaman as music director. The music rights were acquired by Sony Music India.
