Mahesh Sahoo is an Indian politician. He was elected to the Lok Sabha,lower house of the Parliament of India from Dhenkanal,Odisha in the 2019 Indian general election as a member of the Biju Janata Dal. [1]

Talcher Thermal Power station is located in Talcher sub-division of Angul district in the Indian state of Odisha Pin.759101. The existing plant was closed on 31 March 2021 with the plans to set up a new plant still in discussion phase. The power plant is one of the coal-based plants of NTPC. The coal for the power plant is sourced from Jagannath Mines of Mahanadi Coalfields Limited. Source of water for the plant is from Brahmani River. It has its own railway station and is well connected to three other important stations in close vicinity:Talcher Road,Angul and Talcher Stations. This power plant has been ranked among the best power plants in the country despite being the oldest plant in the state. It has consistently topped the charts in NTPC for the last four years and was also the nation's top power plant in 2015-16.
The Jharsuguda–Vizianagaram line is a railway line in eastern India. It connects Jharsuguda,516 km (321 mi) from Howrah on the Howrah–Nagpur–Mumbai line,and Titlagarh,which in turn is connected with Vizianagaram,820 km (510 mi) from Howrah on the Howrah–Chennai main line,and Raipur Junction,830 km (516 mi) from Howrah on the Howrah–Nagpur–Mumbai line. There are several branch lines,like the 176 km (109 mi) line connecting Rayagada with Koraput on the Kothavalasa–Kirandul line. The line traverses Western Odisha and connects the Howrah–Nagpur–Mumbai line with the Howrah–Chennai main line. It covers small portions of Chhattisgarh and Andhra Pradesh.
The Tapaswini Express is daily Express train between Hatia and Puri. The train was the first Express train to be introduced with a route via Bhubaneswar,Dhenkanal,Talcher,Sambalpur. 18451UP departs Hatia at 15:55 and reaches Puri at 07:15 every day. The 18452DN departs Puri at 20:00 and reaches Hatia at 11:05 every day. This train has two rakes with WAP-4 or WAP-7 Visakhapatnam locomotive. This train reverses 2 times:at Sambalpur and Talcher.
