Makhmud Gurbanov (Azerbaijani : Mahmud Qurbanov; born 10 May 1973) is a football midfielder from Azerbaijan. He has won Azerbaijani championship record 12 times with six different teams. [1]
He started his career in FC Kapaz, and has since played for PFC Neftchi, Kapaz (second spell) and FK Shamkir before he played abroad with Iranian team Foolad FC and Ukrainian team FC Tavriya Simferopol. He later rejoined PFC Neftchi. He then signed with FC Inter Baku, where he played until he joined Sumgayit FC. [2]

Gurban Osman oghlu Gurbanov is an Azerbaijani football manager and former player who manages Qarabag. He played as a forward. Starting out with local club Kur in 1988, Gurbanov had a decorated 18-year career. He scored 178 goals in 399 league matches. With 14 goals in 68 matches, he is also the Azerbaijan national team's all-time leading goalscorer in international matches. From 2017 to 2018 he was the manager of the Azerbaijan national team.

The Kəpəz 2012–13 season was Kəpəz's third Azerbaijan Premier League season since their promotion back into the top flight. Kapaz started the season under Fuad Ismayilov, but he resigned on August 19, being replaced by Mahmud Gurbanov. Kəpəz finished the season in 12th place, getting relegated to the Azerbaijan First Division for the 2013-14 season, after being bottom of the league for all bar two weeks. They also participated in the 2012–13 Azerbaijan Cup, winning their first-round game against Qala 2-4, before losing to Qarabağ in extra time in the second round.
The 2015–16 season was Gabala FK's 11th season, and their 10th in the Azerbaijan Premier League, the top-flight of Azerbaijani football. Domestically, Gabala finished 3rd in the Premier League for the third season in a row and reached the semifinals of the Azerbaijan Cup where they were defeated by Neftchi Baku.
