The Maine Lynx are a team of the Women's Spring Football League which began play in 2012. Based in Portland, the Lynx play their home games at Memorial Stadium.

They played their inaugural year in the Women's Football Alliance before they switched to the WSFL for 2013.

Seimone Delicia Augustus is an American former professional basketball player who is one of the most recognizable faces in the WNBA. After retiring as a player in 2020, she was an assistant coach for the Los Angeles Sparks of the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA) for two seasons. She was drafted first overall by the Minnesota Lynx in the 2006 draft; and played for the Lynx for most of her WNBA career except for her final season in 2020 with the Los Angeles Sparks. An eight-time All-Star and the 2011 finals MVP, Augustus led the Lynx to four WNBA championships. She also won three gold medals in the Olympics on the U.S. national team.

Andrea Lane Lloyd is an American former professional basketball player, a 2007 inductee into the Women's Basketball Hall of Fame, and previous television analyst for the Minnesota Lynx. Currently she is working as a television analyst for the MTN sports network with the Mountain West Conference.

Sylvia Shaqueria Fowles is an American retired professional basketball player. Fowles played for the Chicago Sky and Minnesota Lynx during her WNBA career. She won the WNBA MVP Award in 2017 and the WNBA Defensive Player of the Year award four times. She led the Lynx to win the WNBA Championship in 2015 and 2017, and she was named the MVP of the WNBA Finals both times. In 2020, Fowles overtook Rebekkah Brunson to become the WNBA's career leader in rebounds.

She announced her retirement after the 2017 season when the Lynx won the WNBA championship. She was born in Newburgh, New York. She moved to Granbury, Texas, where she attended Granbury High School.

She was part of the team at the 2003 FIFA Women's World Cup and 2007 FIFA Women's World Cup. At college level she played for Nebraska Cornhuskers in the United States. At club level, she played for the Toronto Lady Lynx and Ottawa Fury.

The 2020–21 Gibraltar Women's Football League is the fifth season of 11-a-side women's football in Gibraltar since the territory joined UEFA in 2013, and FIFA in 2016. The league had been in operation for a number of years previously, but teams were ineligible for entry to the UEFA Women's Champions League as it was only a 9-a-side tournament. Lincoln Red Imps Women were the reigning champions, but disbanded their women's team in summer 2020.

The 2021–22 Women's Rock Cup is a single-leg knockout tournament contested by clubs from Gibraltar, with five clubs participating. It is the 8th edition of the tournament since the Gibraltar Football Association joined UEFA in 2013.
