Malaysia participated at the 2017 Asian Youth Para Games which was held in Dubai, United Arab Emirates from 10 to 14 December 2017. Malaysia contingent had 12 athletes competed in five sports and was led by chef de mission, Siti Zaharah Abdul Khalid. [1]

2017 Southeast Asian Games 29th edition of the Southeast Asian Games

The 2017 Southeast Asian Games, officially known as the 29th Southeast Asian Games, or the 29th SEA Games, and commonly known as Kuala Lumpur 2017, was a Southeast Asian multi-sport event that took place from 19 to 30 August 2017 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. This was the sixth time that Malaysia hosted the games and its first time since 2001. Previously, it had also hosted the 1965, 1971, 1977 and 1989 editions of the games. The 2017 edition is most notable for being the first edition to include winter sports.

2017 ASEAN Para Games 9th ASEAN Para Games

The 2017 ASEAN Para Games, officially known as the 9th ASEAN Para Games, was a Southeast Asian disabled multi-sport event held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, 17 days after the 2017 Southeast Asian Games from 17 to 23 September 2017. This was the third time Malaysia host the ASEAN Para Games and its first time since 2009. Previously, Malaysia also hosted the inaugural games in 2001.

2001 ASEAN Para Games 1st ASEAN Para Games

The 2001 ASEAN Para Games, officially known as the 1st ASEAN Para Games, was a Southeast Asian disabled multi-sport event held a month after the 2001 Southeast Asian Games. It was held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia from 26 to 29 October 2001. This ASEAN Para Games was the first edition held in history for Southeast Asia countries and also the first edition hosted by Malaysia.

Muhammad Ziyad Zolkefli Malaysian Paralympic athlete

Muhammad Ziyad bin Zolkefli is a Paralympic athlete from Malaysia who competes in T20 classification shot put events. He is the current world record holder in his event. Zolkefli represented Malaysia at the 2012 Summer Paralympics in London, where he won the bronze medal in the shot put. As well as Paralympic success, Muhammad Ziyad has won both the World Championship and Asian Para Games titles in his sport, in 2013 and 2014 respectively.

Malaysia competed at the 2018 Commonwealth Games in the Gold Coast, Australia from 4 to 15 April 2018.

Malaysia participated in the 2018 Asian Games in Jakarta and Palembang, Indonesia from 18 August to 2 September 2018. At the last edition in Incheon, the country placed 14 in the medals tally, with 5 gold medals from squash, sailing, and karate. In 2018 edition, Malaysia was represented by 447 athletes and 140 officials at the Games. Abdul Azim Mohamad Zabidi, the Appeals Committee chairman of the Olympic Council of Malaysia was the chief of the delegation.

Malaysia competed in the 2020 Summer Paralympics in Tokyo, Japan from 24 August to 5 September 2021 which was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The 2017 Southeast Asian Games opening ceremony was held in Bukit Jalil National Stadium on 19 August 2017 at 20:17 MST (UTC+8) which highlighted aspects of Malaysia's history and culture. The ceremony was directed by film director Saw Teong Hin alongside the Memories Entertainment creative team with co-operation from the Malaysian Armed Forces. The time 20:17 was chosen to start the opening ceremony to mark the year 2017, the year which Malaysia hosted the 29th Southeast Asian Games.

2021 Asian Youth Para Games

The 2021 Asian Youth Para Games, also known as the 4th Asian Youth Para Games is the 4th edition of multi-sport event for Asian athletes with different abilities. This event will be held in Manama, Bahrain.

Malaysia at the 2021 Asian Youth Para Games Sporting event delegation

Malaysia competed in the 2021 Asian Youth Para Games which will be held in Manama, Bahrain from 2 to 6 December 2021. Malaysia contingent has 13 athletes who will compete in six sports and was led by chef de mission of delegation, Kumarusamy Sithambaram.

Zy Kher Lee is a Malaysian Para swimming athlete. He has competed in the 2021 Asian Youth Para Games in swimming events and get three medals.

Malaysia at the 2022 Commonwealth Games Sporting event delegation

Malaysia will compete at the 2022 Commonwealth Games at Birmingham, England from 28 July to 8 August 2022. It will be Malaysia's 14th appearance at the Commonwealth Games.
