Malcolm Turneris an athletics administrator who most recently served as the Athletic Director at Vanderbilt University. [1] Prior to this role,he served as the president of the NBA G League. [2] [1]
Turner attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where he was a Morehead-Cain Scholar. [2] He was member of Alpha Phi Alpha fraternity. He graduated with a business degree and was a Rhodes Scholar finalist. [1]

Turner is a member of the New York State Bar. Turner worked at Wasserman Media Group,serving as the managing director of the golf division. [1] Prior to his role in the golf division,Turner helped build Wasserman’s consulting division as its managing director,creating and managing sports,entertainment,venue and new product launch strategies for leading corporate brands and properties. On October 31,2014,Malcolm Turner was hired as the president of the NBA Development League (NBA D-League). [2] As president,the league grew from 14 to 27 teams as of the 2018–19 season. [2] Under his leadership,Gatorade became the title sponsor of the D-League,and it was renamed the NBA G League prior to the 2017–18 season. [5] [1]
On February 1,2019,Turner became the Athletic Director at Vanderbilt University. [1] He resigned on February 4,2020. [6] [1]
At UNC,he received the Ernest L. Mackie Chancellor’s Award for character,scholarship and leadership. [1] He was named in SportsBusiness Journal’s “Forty Under 40”in 2007.

Julius Shareef Abdur-Rahim is an American former professional basketball player and current president of the NBA G League. He was also the director of player personnel for the Sacramento Kings of the National Basketball Association (NBA) and the general manager of the Reno Bighorns,the Kings' minor-league affiliate. He last played in the NBA for the Kings. On the basketball court,he played both forward and center positions. He left the University of California,Berkeley after one year to enter the 1996 NBA draft.
John Motley Morehead III was an American chemist,politician,and diplomat. As a chemist,his work provided much of the foundation for the business of Union Carbide Corporation. The Union Carbide and Carbon Corporation was formed in 1917 from the merger of the former Union Carbide founded in 1898 by Morehead's father;and the National Carbon Company founded in 1886. He was a noted philanthropist who made major gifts to his alma mater,the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He also served as mayor of Rye,New York and United States Ambassador to Sweden.
The Delaware Blue Coats are an American professional basketball team of the NBA G League. The team is an affiliate of the Philadelphia 76ers in the National Basketball Association. The home games are played at the Chase Fieldhouse in Wilmington,Delaware. The team was founded in 2007 as the Utah Flash and served as an affiliate to the Utah Jazz. In April 2013,the 76ers acquired the team and relocated it to Delaware,where it played as the Delaware 87ers until 2018.

Kenneth Bernard Faried Lewis is an American professional basketball player who last played for the Grand Rapids Gold of the NBA G League. Known as "The Manimal" due to his hustle on the court,he attended Morehead State University for four years,twice being named the Ohio Valley Conference Player of the Year. He finished his collegiate career as the NCAA all-time leading rebounder in the post-1973 era with 1,673 rebounds. He was selected 22nd overall in the 2011 NBA draft by the Denver Nuggets.

Matthew Dickey is an American basketball player who is best known for his collegiate career at the University of North Carolina at Asheville. A 6'1" point guard,Dickey guided the Bulldogs to consecutive NCAA Tournament berths in 2011 and 2012. As a senior in 2011–12 he was named the Big South Conference's Player of the Year;he led the team with a 16.1 points per game average en route to conference regular season and conference tournament championships. UNC Asheville set a school record with 24 wins that year.

The 2018 NBA Draft was held on June 21,2018,at Barclays Center in Brooklyn,New York. National Basketball Association (NBA) teams took turns selecting amateur United States college basketball players and other eligible players,including international players. It was televised nationally by ESPN. State Farm was the presenting sponsor of the NBA draft for the seventh consecutive year. This draft was the last to use the original weighted lottery system that gave teams near the bottom of the NBA draft better odds at the top three picks of the draft while teams higher up had worse odds in the process;the rule was agreed upon by the NBA on September 28,2017,but would not be implemented until the 2019 draft. It was also considered the final year where undrafted college underclassmen were forced to begin their professional careers early;on August 8,2018,the NCAA announced that players who declared for the NBA draft and were not selected would have the opportunity to return to their school for at least another year. With the last year of what was,at the time,the most recent lottery system,the Phoenix Suns won the first overall pick on May 15,2018,with the Sacramento Kings at the second overall pick and the Atlanta Hawks at third overall pick. The Suns' selection was their first No. 1 overall selection in franchise history. They used the selection on the Bahamian center Deandre Ayton from the nearby University of Arizona.
