Malin (born Malin Reitan; 8 August 1995 in Trondheim, Norway) is a Norwegian singer. She finished 3rd in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2005 with her song "Sommer og skolefri". She is also a recording artist with several released albums. Malin sings in her regional dialect.
Malin's career as a singer started when she was nine years old. She auditioned for the Norwegian selection for JESC 2005, the Melodi Grand Prix Junior 2005, and she was selected to sing among ten contestants in the final show. Her song was too short though, so she had to write one more verse for it on the way home from the audition. After surprising herself by winning MGP Jr by a landslide, she went on a summer concert tour, singing at festivals and on television shows. In November, she performed in the JESC 2005 in Hasselt, Belgium and finished 3rd, the best position for Norway so far.
The following year, Malin signed a record deal and in 2006 she released two albums. Malin på månen was released in May, a children's album that includes "Sommer og skolefri" and she participated in writing most of the original songs on it. Malin's jul is a Christmas album with familiar Christmas songs. Her third album Pang was released in April 2008, and was certified gold in a few weeks. [1]
In October 2011, it was announced that Malin would compete in the adult version of Melodi Grand Prix in 2012. [2] In the semi-final, she finished third and made it to the national final with the song "Crush".

Melodi Grand Prix Junior, also spelled as MGPjr, is a Norwegian television song competition for aspiring singers between the ages of 8 and 15. The competing songs are written by the participants themselves and are sung primarily in Norwegian, and on several occasions, there were songs in Northern Sami, another language of Norway. Many past contestants went on to become stars, such as 2002's Nicolay Ramm, 2005's Malin Reitan, 2007's Celine Helgemo, 2009's Jørgen Dahl Moe, 2014's Mathea-Mari Glittenberg, and 2017's Oselie Henden.
MGP Nordic was a Scandinavian song contest for children aged 8 to 15, organized by DR, NRK, SVT and Yle through Yle Fem. It originated as a 2000 spin-off of Denmark's Eurovision Song Contest national final known as De unges Melodi Grand Prix, but expanded to become MGP Nordic in 2002 with the addition of Norway and Sweden. The competing entries were sung primarily in the official or co-official languages of the corresponding countries and written solely by the participants.
The Melodi Grand Prix Junior 2006 is Norway's fifth national Melodi Grand Prix Junior for singers ages 8 to 15 years old. It was held on April 21, 2006, in Oslo Spektrum, Oslo, Norway. It was broadcast live for a total of 1 hour and 15 minutes. The hosts were Stian Barsnes Simonsen and Nadia Hasnaoui. A total of 10 children participated. The contest was won by 10-year-old Ole Runar Gillebo with his song Fotball e supert. Ole won the public vote by a landslide and received the trophy from Malin Reitan, who won the 2005 contest.

MGP Junior is a Danish song contest for children aged 8 to 15. It originated in 2000 as a spin-off of Dansk Melodi Grand Prix, before coming the national selection for the now-extinct MGP Nordic in 2002 and from 2006 to 2009. From 2003 to 2005, MGP Junior was Denmark's national selection for the Junior Eurovision Song Contest, a pan-European version of the format. The songs are performed primarily in Danish and written by the participants themselves. The Norwegian Broadcasting Corporation (NRK) organised the national final Melodi Grand Prix 2012 in order to select the Norwegian entry for the 2012 contest in Baku, Azerbaijan. 24 entries competed in the national final that consisted of three semi-finals and a final. Ten entries ultimately qualified to compete in the final on 11 February 2012 where the winner was determined over two rounds of voting. In the first round of voting, a public televote exclusively selected the top four entries to advance to the competition's second round—the Gold Final. In the second round of voting, "Stay" performed by Tooji was selected as the winner following the combination of votes from three regional jury groups and a public vote.
Touraj Keshtkar, known professionally as Tooji, is a Norwegian singer, painter, model and television host. He represented Norway in the Eurovision Song Contest 2012 in Baku, Azerbaijan and finished 26th (last) in the final. Beginning with his single "Cocktail", he also started using the kanji characters 冬至 in his artistic identity.
Alexandra Rotan is a Norwegian singer. Rotan began her career as a child singer, becoming a superfinalist in Melodi Grand Prix Junior 2010 with the song "Det vi vil". She later joined the group Keiino in 2018, and represented Norway in the Eurovision Song Contest 2019 with the song "Spirit in the Sky", placing sixth. She had previously competed in Melodi Grand Prix 2018 in a duet with Stella Mwangi, placing third.
