Ksenia Mikhailovna Sitnik [lower-alpha 1] (born 15 May 1995), sometimes also transliterated as Kseniya Sitnik or Xenia Sitnik, is a Belarusian pop singer. She represented Belarus in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2005, which she won with the self-penned song "My vmeste" (We Are Together).
Ksenia Sitnik was born on 15 May 1995 in the city of Mazyr. [1] [2] She won first prize at the international children's contest at the Slavianski Bazaar in Vitebsk in July 2005. Sitnik won the Junior Eurovision Song Contest in 2005, where she represented her home country with the song My Vmeste. Despite the song not being particularly popular in pre-contest polls: for example, in the Europrediction poll, Sitnik came last with no points. [3] Sitnik won, albeit narrowly – she had only three points more than the runner-up, Antonio José Sánchez Mazuecos from Spain.
In November 2006, Sitnik released a CD with accompanying music book called My Vmeste ("We Are Together"). She has released three music videos: Malenkiy Korablik ("Little Ship") in 2006, Prostaya Pesenka ("Simple Song") in 2007 and Non-stop in 2009.
The Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2005 was the third edition of the annual Junior Eurovision Song Contest for young singers aged 8 to 15. On 26 November 2005, the contest was broadcast live from the Ethias Arena in Hasselt, Belgium, in a joint effort by the national broadcasters Vlaamse Radio- en Televisieomroep (VRT) and Radio télévision belge de la communauté française (RTBF), in co-operation with the European Broadcasting Union. Marcel Vanthilt and Maureen Louys hosted the event.
Belarus is an Eastern European country with a rich tradition of folk and religious music. The country's folk music traditions can be traced back to the times of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania. The country's musical traditions spread with its people to countries like Russia, Canada, United States, Kazakhstan and Latvia. The people of Belarus were exposed mostly to Russian pop music during this period and also after independence in 1991. In 2002, however, President Alexander Lukashenko has signed a decree requiring 50% of all FM broadcast music to be Belarusian in origin, and since January 1, 2005 the rule was made even stricter. However, it does not regulate the language of the songs, so most of the music which is broadcast is still in Russian.
The Junior Eurovision Song Contest is an international song competition which has been organised by the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) annually since 2003. It is held in a different European city each year, however the same city can host the contest more than once.
Belarus has participated in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest in every edition since its inception in 2003 until 2020. The Belarusian Television and Radio Company (BTRC), then a member organisation of the European Broadcasting Union (EBU), has been responsible for the selection process of its participants since its debut. The country hosted the contest at the Minsk-Arena in 2010 and again in 2018.

The national final was a televised production which consisted of a semi-final and a final held on 15 December 2006 and 22 January 2007, respectively. Fifteen competing acts participated in the semi-final where three entries qualified to the final: one entry selected by a public televote and two entries selected by a seven-member jury panel. In the final, the jury panel selected "Work Your Magic" performed by Dmitry Koldun as the winner.
The Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2008 was the sixth edition of the annual Junior Eurovision Song Contest, which is the world's largest song contest for children. It was held at the "Spyros Kyprianou" Athletic Centre in Lemesos, Cyprus and hosted by Alex Michael and Sophia Paraskeva. It was won by the Georgian trio Bzikebi, with the song "Bzz..". Ukraine took 2nd place and Lithuania finished 3rd. Bzikebi also became the first group act to win Junior Eurovision.
Alexey Alexandrovich Zhigalkovich is a Belarusian singer. He participated in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2007 and won with one point more than the Armenian runner up. He sang the song "S druz'yami". It was a song with a fast tempo and energetic dancing. He wrote this song himself.
Inga and Anush Arshakyan, or, the Arshakyan Sisters, are an Armenian folk singing duo. The sisters represented Armenia in the Eurovision Song Contest 2009, eventually finishing in 10th place in the final.

In the final, "All My Life" performed by Alyona Lanskaya was initially selected as the winner following the combination of votes from a jury panel and public televoting, however the entry was later disqualified due to vote rigging and replaced by runner-up "We Are the Heroes" performed by Litesound.
Litesound is a Belarusian pop rock band formed in 2005 by brothers Dmitry and Vladimir Karyakin. In 2010, they released their debut album Going to Hollywood. Two years later, in 2012, the band was chosen to represent Belarus in the Eurovision Song Contest, performing the song "We Are the Heroes". As of 2018, they released their second studio album Litesound.
