Anastasiya Ihorivna Petryk [a] (born 4 May 2002, known known by the diminutive Nastya) [b] is a Ukrainian singer. [1] She won the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2012 with the song "Nebo", becoming the first Ukrainian entrant to win the competition.

In 2009, at the age of 7, Anastasiya Petryk appeared on the second season of Ukraine's Got Talent with her older sister Viktoria "Vika" Petryk, [2] who represented Ukraine in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2008, finishing in second place. [3]

Although Anastasiya was only supporting her sister backstage, the judges invited her to sing a song with her sister Victoria. After singing "I Love Rock 'n' Roll", they were invited to take part in the show together, reaching the semi-finals. That year Anastasiya also won the first prize in the "Moloda Halychyna" [4] and second prize in the "Black Sea Games 2009". [4]

In 2010, at the International Popular Music competition "New Wave Junior 2010" held in Artek, Ukraine, Anastasiya won the first prize in the younger age group (8 to 12 years old). [5] Her sister Viktoria won in the older age group. [5]

In 2012, Petryk won the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2012 with the song "Nebo". [6] She set new records from both largest winning margin in Junior Eurovision with 138 points (35 points ahead of 2nd. place) [6] and largest percentage of 12-point scores, being awarded 12 points by 8 out of 12 of the voting countries (excluding Ukraine itself).[ citation needed ]

In spring 2022, following the Russian invasion of Ukraine, Petryk moved to Philadelphia. [7]

The participation of Georgia in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest first began at the Junior Eurovision Song Contest in 2007 which took place in Rotterdam, Netherlands. The Georgian Public Broadcaster (GPB), a member organisation of the European Broadcasting Union (EBU), have been responsible for the selection process of their participants since their debut. The first representative to participate for the nation at the 2007 contest was Mariam Romelashvili with the song "Odelia Ranuni", which finished in fourth place out of seventeen participating entries, achieving a score of one hundred and sixteen points. Kateryna Ihorivna Taranenko, known professionally as Swoiia and until 2023 as Assol (Ассоль), is a Ukrainian singer. In 2016, she participated in the Ukrainian edition of The Voice.

The Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2012 was the tenth edition of the annual Junior Eurovision Song Contest. It took place at the Heineken Music Hall in Amsterdam, Netherlands on 1 December 2012. Dutch broadcaster AVRO was the host broadcaster for the event. For the second time the Netherlands hosted the contest, after hosting the contest in 2007 in Rotterdam. The show was hosted by Kim-Lian van der Meij for a second time, this time joined by Ewout Genemans. The motto for the contest was "Break The Ice".

The Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2013 was the 11th edition of the annual Junior Eurovision Song Contest. It took place in Kyiv, Ukraine on 30 November 2013. The venue for the contest was announced on 17 April 2013, as the Palace "Ukraine". Ukrainian broadcaster National Television Company of Ukraine (NTU) was the host broadcaster for the event. It was the second time the contest was held in Kyiv, the first being the 2009 contest. It was also the second time in the history of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest that the event took place in last year's winning country, as well as the first time that the event was held in the same city twice. A total of twelve countries participated, with Macedonia and Malta making a return, and Albania, Belgium and Israel choosing to withdraw. San Marino made their debut in the contest. "Nebo" is a song written and recorded by Ukrainian child singer Anastasiya Petryk and producer Artem Valter. It won for Ukraine in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2012, held in Amsterdam, Netherlands scoring 138 points.

Ukraine participated in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2016. The Ukrainian entrant for the 2016 contest in Valletta, Malta was selected through a national selection, organised by the Ukrainian broadcaster National Television Company of Ukraine (NTU). The semi-final took place on 13 August 2016, while the final took place on 10 September 2016. The winner was Sofia Rol with the song "Planet Craves For Love".

Ukraine participated in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2017 which will be held in Tbilisi, Georgia on 26 November 2017. Their entrant was selected through a national selection, organized by the Ukrainian broadcaster NTU. The semi-final took place on 8 August 2017, where the 27 eligible submissions performed in front of a jury, and then they chose ten artists to qualify to the final, which took place on 25 August 2017. As a result, Anastasiya Baginska won the Ukrainian selection and got the right to represent Ukraine in Tbilisi, Georgia with the song "Don't Stop ".

The Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2018 was the sixteenth edition of the annual Junior Eurovision Song Contest, organised by the Belarusian Television and Radio Company (BTRC) and the European Broadcasting Union (EBU). It took place in the Belarusian capital city, Minsk on 25 November 2018 at the Minsk-Arena. It was the second time that the contest was held in Belarus, after it staged the 2010 edition at the same venue.

Ukraine participated in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2018 in Minsk, Belarus with the song "Say Love" performed by Darina Krasnovetska. Their entrant was selected through a national selection, organized by the Ukrainian broadcaster UA:PBC.

Ukraine participated in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2019 in Gliwice, Poland with the song "The Spirit of Music" performed by Sophia Ivanko. Their entrant was selected through a national selection, organized by the Ukrainian broadcaster UA:PBC.

Ukraine participated in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2020, which was held in Warsaw, Poland, with the song "Vidkryvai" performed by Oleksandr Balabanov. Their entrant was selected through a national selection, organised by the Ukrainian broadcaster UA:PBC.

Ukraine competed in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2022 in Armenia, which was held on 11 December 2022 in Yerevan. The country was represented by Zlata Dziunka with the song "Nezlamna (Unbreakable)", who won the national selection organised by the Ukrainian broadcaster Suspilne.

Ukraine competed in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2023 in France, which was held on 26 November 2023 in Nice. National broadcaster Suspilne was responsible for the participation and selected the nation's entrant via national selection, won by Anastasia Dymyd with the song "Kvitka".

Ukraine took part in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2024 in Madrid, Spain, with the song "Hear Me Now" performed by Artem Kotenko. The Ukrainian broadcaster Public Broadcasting Company of Ukraine selected its entry, originally titled "Dim", through the national final Natsvidbir na Dytiache Yevrobachennia – 2024.
