The Melodi Grand Prix Junior 2010 was Norway's ninth national Melodi Grand Prix Junior for young singers aged 8 to 15. It was held in Oslo Spektrum, Oslo, Norway and broadcast live Norwegian Broadcasting Corporation (NRK).
The winner was Torstein Snekvik with the song "Svikter aldri igjen" [1] (Norwegian for Never fails again). The trophy that was handed to him by 2009's winner Jørgen Dahl Moe. Presenters were Kåre Magnus Bergh and Ingrid Gjessing Linhave. AF1, Didrik Solli-Tangen and Tine Thing Helseth performed during the competition breaks.
After singing his winning song, Torstein and the three other super finalists joined in to sing "Du er suveren" (translated as You are sovereign), written by Ronny Wikmark and Skjalg Raaen. [2] "Du er suveren" was the joint song recorded by all the ten finalists in MGPjr 2010 [3]
The album Melodi Grand Prix Junior 2010 containing the songs of the finals and "Du er suveren"reached No. 1 on the VG-lista Norwegian Albums Chart on weeks 37 and 39 of 2010 staying at the top of the charts for 2 weeks.

Norway was represented at the Eurovision Song Contest 2005 with the song "In My Dreams", written by Trond "Teeny" Holter, and performed by the band Wig Wam. The Norwegian participating broadcaster, Norsk rikskringkasting (NRK), organised the national final Melodi Grand Prix 2005 in order to select its entry for the contest. Eight entries competed in a show that took place on 5 March 2005 and the winner was determined over two rounds of public televoting. The top four entries in the first round of voting advanced to the competition's second round—the Gold Final. In the second round of public televoting, "In My Dreams" performed by Wig Wam was selected as the winner with 75,667 votes.
The Melodi Grand Prix Junior 2007 was Norway's sixth national Melodi Grand Prix Junior for young singers aged 8 to 15. It was held on June 2, 2007, in Oslo Spektrum, Oslo, Norway and broadcast live presented by Stian Barsnes Simonsen. Nine participants participated and the contest was won by 11-year-old Celine Helgemo with her song Bæstevænna (Bestfriends). She received the award out of the hands of Ole Runar, who won the 2006 contest with his song "Fotball e supert".

The contest was won by 10-year-old Ole Runar Gillebo with his song Fotball e supert. Ole won the public vote by a landslide and received the trophy from Malin Reitan, who won the 2005 contest.

Eight entries ultimately qualified to compete in the final on 9 February 2008 where the winner was determined over two rounds of voting. In the first round of voting, a public televote exclusively selected the top four entries to advance to the competition's second round—the Gold Final. In the second round of voting, "Hold On Be Strong" performed by Maria Haukaas Storeng was selected as the winner following the combination of votes from three regional jury groups and a public televote.
Maria Haukaas Mittet also known as simply Maria is a Norwegian recording artist. She gained national recognition in 2004 for her participation in the Idol reality television series, and international recognition in 2008 as Norway's representative in the 53rd Eurovision Song Contest.
Agnete Kristin Johnsen Saba, also known as Agnete Saba, Agnete Johnsen or simply Agnete, is a Sami-Norwegian singer and songwriter. Saba is best known for being the lead singer of the Norwegian teen punk band the BlackSheeps. She represented Norway in the Eurovision Song Contest 2016 as a solo artist with the song "Icebreaker".
"Fairytale" is a song composed, written, and recorded by Belarusian-Norwegian singer-songwriter Alexander Rybak. It represented Norway in the Eurovision Song Contest 2009 held in Moscow, winning the contest. It is the first single from Rybak's debut album Fairytales released on 29 May 2009 just after the contest.

The winners were To små karer with the song "Paybacktime". They represented Norway in MGP Nordic held in Denmark together with the second-placed Wicked Instinct and third-placed Black Jackets. Melodi Grand Prix 2018 was the 56th edition of Melodi Grand Prix, Norway's national selection for the Eurovision Song Contest. The competition was held on Saturday, 10 March 2018 in the Oslo Spektrum; which has hosted all the Norwegian finals since 2001. The hosts were Kåre Magnus Bergh and Silya Nymoen, who also hosted the finals in 2015 and 2016, and the former also in 2017. Ten songs participated in the final, and like 2017, the winner was chosen by the viewers together with ten international jury groups. Alexander Rybak won the competition with his self-composed song "That's How You Write a Song". Rybak also won both the Norwegian and international finals in 2009. Rybak represented Norway in the Eurovision Song Contest 2018 in Portugal in May 2018. There, the song finished as number 15 in the final.
Melodi Grand Prix 2020 was the 58th edition of the Norwegian music competition Melodi Grand Prix (MGP) and served as the country's preselection for the Eurovision Song Contest 2020. The competition was organized by NRK between 11 January 2020 and 15 February 2020, and a total of 25 songs participated – the highest number in the history of the competition.
