The Maltese Democratic Party (Maltese : Partit Demokratiku Malti; PDM) was a short-lived Maltese political party formed by Lino Briguglio to contest the 1987 general elections. The party ran four candidates across eight of the thirteen electoral districts. [1] The party ran with the slogan "The Citizens first!", this slogan would later be adopted ten years after by the Labour Party. [2]

Michael Refalo was a Maltese politician and diplomat. He was a member of the Nationalist Party and sat in the House of Representatives between 1971 and 2003 and served terms first as parliamentary secretary and later as minister for tourism. Refalo was High Commissioner of Malta to the United Kingdom between 2005 and October 2008. He was also the editor of the Il-Mument newspaper from 1972 to 1980.

The Democratic Christian Party was a minor political party in Malta formed by Chevallier George Ransley to contest the 1962 general election. The party ran twelve candidates in four of the ten electoral districts. None were elected, with the party only received 699 votes. It dissolved following the election.
