Marc Fortier (born February 26, 1966) is a Canadian former professional ice hockey centre. Fortier played in the National Hockey League for the Quebec Nordiques, Ottawa Senators and Los Angeles Kings.

Biography

Fortier was raised in Windsor, Quebec.[ citation needed ] As a youth, he played in the 1978 Quebec International Pee-Wee Hockey Tournament with a minor ice hockey team from Windsor. [1]

Fortier first played four years in the QMJHL for the Chicoutimi Saguenéens. In his last season, he had a total of 201 points which is a record in team history. Afterwards, he played in the NHL, AHL and IHL. From 1994 to 2005, Fortier played in Europe, playing in the Deutsche Eishockey Liga in Germany and in Switzerland in Nationalliga A and Nationalliga B. Fortier played a total of 212 regular season games, scoring 42 goals and 102 points with 135 penalty minutes.[ citation needed ]

Fortier has been the coach and general manager of the Saint-Georges CRS Express of the Ligue Nord-Américaine de Hockey. He was a QMJHL scout for the Colorado Avalanche in the 20082009 season. In 2010, he served the recruitment director of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League. He was the general manager of his former junior team, the Chicoutimi Saguenéens, from 2011 to 2014.[ citation needed ]

The 1994 Memorial Cup was held May 14–22 at the Colisée de Laval in Laval, Quebec. It was the 76th annual Memorial Cup competition and determined the major junior ice hockey champion of the Canadian Hockey League (CHL). Participating teams were the host Laval Titan from the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League, as well as the winners of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League, Ontario Hockey League and Western Hockey League, which were the Chicoutimi Saguenéens, North Bay Centennials and Kamloops Blazers. Kamloops won their second Memorial Cup, defeating Laval in the final game.

William J. Bowler is a Canadian former professional ice hockey centre. He played nine games in the National Hockey League with the Columbus Blue Jackets during the 2000–01 season. The rest of his career, which lasted from 1995 to 2003, was spent in the minor leagues. He is currently the General Manager of the Windsor Spitfires in the Ontario Hockey League.

Daniel Jacques Laperrière is a Canadian ice hockey coach and former professional ice hockey player. Sam St. Laurent is a Canadian former professional ice hockey goaltender who played 34 games in the National Hockey League between 1986 and 1990 as well as on the Canadian national men's hockey team. St. Laurent was last NHL goaltender to wear a mask made entirely out of fiberglass.

The 2007–08 QMJHL season was the 39th season in the history of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League. At the season-opening press conference, the QMJHL announced in partnership with Telus that all 630 regular season games would be available by Internet broadcast. The regular season started on September 13, 2007, and concluded on March 16, 2008. Eighteen teams played seventy games each. The Rouyn-Noranda Huskies finished first overall in the regular season winning their first Jean Rougeau Trophy. They would go on to win 12-straight playoff games before losing in five games in the finals to the Gatineau Olympiques, who captured their seventh President's Cup, and third in the last six seasons.
