Marcelino "Marcy" Monasterial (January 3, 1923 - January 27, 1997) was a former American para table tennis player of Filipino descent.
Monasterial started his sporting career at the age of six and began to play competitively in 1934 aged eleven. He was a dominant right-handed player with an overpowering forehand drive, he also won his first national junior championship title aged in 1944 and remained unbeaten for a long time.
Monasterial served as First Lieutenant during the Second World War and was fired upon by Japanese troops and a round struck his right arm, this led to his arm being amputated below the elbow. He returned to table tennis three weeks later but had to learn how to play left-handedly following the loss of his right arm. [1]
In 1945, Monasterial went to Columbia University to study for a BA and an MA. He then went onto compete for the New York State in 1956 at the U.S. Team Championships, one year later, he went to the 1957 World Table Tennis Championships in Sweden. Monasterial volunteered to play with disabled people at a rehabilitation center in White Plains, New York. [2]
He was selected to compete at the 1984 Summer Paralympics and won his first Paralympic silver medal in the singles, [3] he competed in the 1988 Summer Paralympics but didn't medal, he then went to his third Games, he went to Barcelona to compete at the 1992 Summer Paralympics where he won the bronze medal at the age of 69. Randy Snow was the first Paralympian to be inducted into the U.S. Olympic Hall of Fame and the first paralympian to win medals in three different sports: track, basketball and tennis.
Natalia Dorota Partyka is a Polish table tennis player. Born without a right hand and forearm, she participates in competitions for able-bodied athletes as well as in competitions for athletes with disabilities. Partyka reached the last 32 of the London 2012 Olympic women's table tennis.

Samuel "Sam" Von Einem is an Australian Paralympic table tennis player. Von Einem has represented Australia in table tennis since 2011. He represented Australia at the 2016 Rio Paralympics and 2020 Tokyo Paralympics, where he won silver medals in the Men's Class 11. At Rio Paralympics, he became Australia's first male table tennis medalist since Terry Biggs won gold in 1984.
Nigeria competed at the 1992 Summer Paralympics in Barcelona, Spain, making their Paralympic debut. 6 competitors from Nigeria won 3 medals, all gold, and so finished 33rd the medal table. They competed in athletics, table tennis and powerlifting. Adeoye Ajibola was the country's big success story of these Games, going on to represent Nigeria in non-disability athletics and coming within a second of the men's non-disability 100m world record. Monday Emoghawve was the country's other gold medal winner in Barcelona, claiming gold in men's powerlifting.
Barak Mizrachi is an Australian Paralympic table tennis player. After playing competitive table tennis for the first time in 2001, he went on to make his international debut in 2003 at the Maccabiah Games. He has since represented Australia at the Maccabiah Games in 2005, 2007 and 2009, before being selected for the 2016 Summer Paralympics.
Monique Kalkman-Van den Bosch is a Dutch former professional wheelchair tennis and table tennis player. Monique competed at the Paralympics in 1984, 1988, 1992 and 1996. In 2017, she was inducted into the International Tennis Hall of Fame.
