The Texas A&M University System is a state university system in Texas and is one of the state's seven independent university systems.
The Texas A&M University College of Geosciences was an academic college of Texas A&M University in College Station,Texas. The college had six academic departments and programs,including Atmospheric Sciences,Geography,Geology &Geophysics,Oceanography,Environmental Programs in Geosciences,and the Water Management &Hydrological Science (WMHS) Program. In addition,the College hosted three Research Centers and Institutes:Geochemical &Environmental Research Group (GERG),Integrated Ocean Drilling Program (IODP),and Texas Sea Grant College Program.
Texas A&M University School of Public Health,formerly known as the Texas A&M Health Science Center School of Rural Public Health, is the public health school of Texas A&M University and a component of Texas A&M Health. It offers research,service and degree programs and is the 5th largest School of Public Health in the nation by student count. It was founded in 1998,offering degrees at both the undergraduate and graduate level,and is accredited by CEPH and CAHME. The school has four departments:Environmental and Occupational Health;Epidemiology &Biostatistics;Health Policy and Management;and Health Behavior. They also have six Texas A&M University System Board of Regents approved centers:The Ergonomics Center;Southwest Rural Health Research Center;Center for Community Health and Aging;USA Center for Rural Public Health Preparedness;Center for Health &Nature;Center for Health Equity and Evaluation Research.
Texas A&M University–San Antonio is a public university in San Antonio,Texas. It is part of the Texas A&M University System. The university was established on May 23,2009,and held its first classes as a stand-alone university on August 20,2009. It currently enrolls more than 7,300 students and offers undergraduate and graduate-level classes,as well as a graduate alternative teacher certification program. Texas A&M–San Antonio has 161 full and part-time faculty. Texas A&M–San Antonio is the first Texas A&M University System institution to be established in a major urban center.
Nicholas B. Suntzeff is an American astronomer and cosmologist. He is a University Distinguished Professor and holds the Mitchell/Heep/Munnerlyn Chair of Observational Astronomy in the Department of Physics &Astronomy at Texas A&M University where he is Director of the Astronomy Program. He is an observational astronomer specializing in cosmology,supernovae,stellar populations,and astronomical instrumentation. With Brian Schmidt he founded the High-z Supernova Search Team,which was honored with the Nobel Prize in Physics in 2011 to Schmidt and Adam Riess.
The Bush School of Government &Public Service is an academic college of Texas A&M University founded in 1997 under former President George H. W. Bush's philosophy that "public service is a noble calling." Since then,the Bush School has continued to reflect that notion in curriculum,research,and student experience and has become a leading international affairs,political science,and public affairs institution.
Raymond James Carroll is an American statistician,and Distinguished Professor of statistics,nutrition and toxicology at Texas A&M University. He is a recipient of 1988 COPSS Presidents' Award and 2002 R. A. Fisher Lectureship. He has made fundamental contributions to measurement error model,nonparametric and semiparametric modeling.
Margaret Katherine "Kathy" Banks is an American academic and civil engineer. She was the 26th president of Texas A&M University from 2021 to 2023,where she was the second woman to hold that position out of 41 total presidents at the time,including her interim successor.
Sherry J. Yennello is an American nuclear chemist and an Elected Fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science. She is a Regents Professor and the holder of the Cyclotron Institute Bright Chair in Nuclear Science,who currently serves as the Director of the Cyclotron Institute at Texas A&M University. She is also a Fellow of the American Chemical Society and the American Physical Society. She has authored as well as co-authored more than 530 peer reviewed journal articles and has conducted many invited talks,presentations and seminars at several prestigious academic conferences and scholarly lectures.
Holly Brown-Borg is an American biologist and biogerontologist best known for her research on the regulation of lifespan by growth hormone. She is the Chester Fritz Distinguished Professor of Pharmacology,Physiology &Therapeutics at the University of North Dakota School of Medicine and Health Sciences.
Xi Zhang is a Full Professor and the Founding Director of the Networking and Information Systems Laboratory,Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering,Texas A&M University. He is a Fellow of the IEEE for contributions to quality of service (QoS) in mobile wireless networks. His research interests include statistical delay-bounded QoS provisioning for multimedia mobile wireless networks,edge computing,finite blocklength coding theory,in-network caching,and offloading over 5G mobile wireless networks.
Debra J. Umberson is an American sociologist. She is a professor of sociology at the University of Texas at Austin and director of the Population Research Center.
Murray R. Barrick is a Distinguished University Professor and the Robertson Chair in Business at the Mays Business School at Texas A&M University.
Laura N. Gitlin is an American sociologist. She is the Dean of the Drexel University College of Nursing and Health Professions.
Carrie L. Byington is a Mexican–American clinician and pediatric infectious disease specialist. In 2016,she became the first Hispanic woman to serve as Dean of a United States medical school upon her appointment at the Texas A&M University.

Jennifer Evans-Cowley is an American urban planner and academic,specialising in public engagement and technology infrastructure. In January 2022,she was named by the UT System Board of Regents as the 10th president of The University of Texas at Arlington beginning April 28,2022,making her the first woman to hold the office. She will also be professor of public affairs and planning in the College of Architecture,Planning,and Public Affairs.
Leslie Charles Morey is an American psychologist and an expert in diagnosis and psychiatric classification. He was born in Chicago Heights,Illinois on May 4,1956. Morey received a Bachelor of Science degree in psychology from Northern Illinois University in 1977,and a Master of Science and Doctorate from University of Florida in clinical psychology in the years 1979 and 1981. Morey continued on to serve a clinical internship in 1981 at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. From 1981 to 1982 he worked at the Department of Psychology at the University of Tulsa. Beginning in 1982,and ending in 1984,he worked as the assistant professor of Psychology and Psychiatry at the Yale School of Medicine,and then in 1984,he transferred to Vanderbilt University where he worked as the Professor of Psychology and the Director of Clinical Training until 1998. He worked at the Vanderbilt University until 1999. Morey worked at Harvard Medical School from 1995 to 1996,and from 2006 to 2010 he was the head of the department of psychology at the Texas A&M University. Since 2012 he has worked as their George T. and Gladys H. Abell professor of Psychology.
Karen L. Fingerman is the Wilson Regents Professor in Human Ecology and professor in the Department of Human Development and Family Sciences at the University of Texas at Austin. She has published nearly 200 works on intergenerational and social ties. Fingerman is well known for her work on older adult socio-emotional processes,health,and well-being. Most notably,Fingerman generated the Social Input Model and coined the term “consequential strangers”. In 2018,Fingerman founded the Texas Aging &Longevity Consortium and serves as the current Director in tandem with her position as Director of Research at the Texas Center on Aging and Population Sciences.
Jason E. Maddock is an American public health expert. He is a Regents Professor at Texas A&M University and Director of the Center for Health and Nature at Houston Methodist Hospital. He also serves as the chair of the Nature and Health Alliance. Since 2020,Maddock has served as Editor-in-chief of the Journal of Healthy Eating and Active Living.
