Tristan da Cunha, colloquially Tristan, is a remote group of volcanic islands in the south Atlantic Ocean. She was a member of the Finnish women's national ice hockey team throughout the 1990s and won a bronze medal at the inaugural Olympic women's ice hockey tournament at the 1998 Winter Olympics. She is considered one of the best open water swimmers in history, having obtained, until 2019, 11 medals in World Swimming Championships, 5 being gold, in addition to medals and titles in all relevant existing competitions. Champion of the world's Greatest Open Water Swimmer Award six times. Her countless achievements are comparable only to those of Larisa Ilchenko, another multimedallist in World Championships.
Sandra-Helena Ribeiro Tavares Homo is a Portuguese pole vaulter. Tavares represented Portugal at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing, where she competed for the women's pole vault. She successfully cleared a height of 4.30 metres, finishing nineteenth overall in the qualifying rounds, and tying her position with Greece's Afroditi Skafida, and Poland's Joanna Piwowarska.
Helena Gąsienica Daniel was a Polish cross-country skier. She enjoyed success from a young age, winning two gold medals at the Polish national championships by the age of 16: she went on to win a total of ten golds and four silver medals at the national championships. She competed at the 1956 Winter Olympics and the 1960 Winter Olympics. At the 1956 Games she finished in 24th place in the 10 km, whilst at the 1960 Games she finished 21st in the 10 km and, alongside Stefania Biegun and Józefa Czerniawska-Pęksa, was part of the Polish team that finished fourth in the 3 x 5 km relay.
Maria Gąsienica Daniel-Szatkowska was a Polish alpine skier. She competed at the 1956 Winter Olympics and the 1964 Winter Olympics. She was the sister of fellow Olympians Helena Gąsienica Daniel, Andrzej Gąsienica Daniel and Józef Gąsienica Daniel, as well as fellow competitive skier Franciszek Gąsienica Daniel.
Carlos Alberto Cunha was a Brazilian judoka. He competed in the men's half-middleweight event at the 1980 Summer Olympics.
Dália da Cunha-Sammer was a Portuguese gymnast. She competed at the 1952 Summer Olympics and the 1960 Summer Olympics.
