Marian Diamond (born 17 December 1936) is an English actress, also credited as Marion Diamond (Marion is her birthname). Known primarily for her voice, she has worked for the BBC for years. She narrated several episodes of Jackanory (dealing with C.S. Lewis' books mostly), and she voiced the part of Galadriel in The Lord of the Rings (1981 radio series).

Life

Diamond was born in London on 17 December. [1] She was the younger of two daughters - Gillian Diamond, her sister, was a casting director - of George Diamond, a Polish Jewish father, and his wife Rosemary (nee Reed), of Irish extraction. [2] She attended RADA, graduating in 1956. [3]
