Maria Johanna (Marieke) Sanders-ten Holte (born 7 November 1941) is a Dutch former principal and politician for the People's Party for Freedom and Democracy (VVD).
Sanders-ten Holte was born on 7 November 1941 in Assen, [2] the daughter of a lawyer. After the Municipal Lyceum in Emmen, she studied English at the University of Groningen and literary theory at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. [3]
Sanders-ten Holte started her career as an English teacher. From 1987 to 1999 she was a member of the provincial council of North Holland. Afterwards she was vice-principal at the Coornhert Lyceum in Haarlem. From 1992 to 1994 she served as head of the central office of contract activities at the Inholland University of Applied Sciences in Diemen. In 1994 she continued her career as director of the Dutch Reading Foundation. From 20 July 1999 to 20 July 2004 she was a member of the European Parliament. [3] [4]
Sanders-ten Holte was subsequently appointed Advisor to the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe on the Framework Convention for the Protection of National Minorities and the European Charter for Regional or Minority Languages from 2004 to 2019. [5]
In 2006, she was a United Nations Women's Representative and went to the United Nations General Assembly to give a speech. [6]
Sanders-ten Holte married Pieter Sanders on 18 March 1967 in Emmen, and has two children. [1]

The Eerste Divisie 2009–10 was the 54th season of the Eerste Divisie since its establishment in 1956. The previous year's winners were VVV-Venlo; they, with runner-up RKC Waalwijk, after a promotion/relegation playoff win over De Graafschap, were promoted to the Eredivisie. Twenty teams took part: eighteen from the 2008–2009 season and relegated teams FC Volendam and De Graafschap. The season's champion was promoted to the Eredivisie, while eight other teams, the second- through fifth-place finishers and period winners, faced the Eredivisie's sixteenth- and seventeenth-place finishers in promotion/relegation playoffs. For the first time since 1971, Eerste Divisie clubs also faced relegation; the last- and second-to-last-place teams were relegated to the new Topklasse, in which the best teams from Dutch amateur football play. The 2009–10 Eerste Divisie was sponsored by the Belgian beer brand Jupiler and so the official name of the league was Jupiler League.
Pieter Herman Omtzigt is a Dutch politician who has served as a member of the House of Representatives since 2003 apart from a short interruption between June and October 2010. He was member of the Christian Democratic Appeal (CDA), but left in 2021 and continued as independent. In August 2023, he founded a new party called New Social Contract, its name taken from his 2021 manifesto. Three months later, his party won 20 out of 150 seats in the 2023 Dutch general election.

Willemijn Posthumus-van der Goot was a Dutch economist, feminist and radio broadcaster. As the first woman to attain a doctorate in economics in the Netherlands, her work focused on the impact of working women on the economy. Recognizing that there were few sources, she joined with other feminists to create the International Archives for the Women's Movement in 1935. Writing reports on women's work, she refuted government claims that women working outside the home was of no benefit. First proposed in 1939, the Household Council, which she saw as an organization to foster training and organize domestic laborers was instituted in 1950. She founded the International Association of Women in Radio, as an organization for professional development and networking in 1949. As a peace activist, she was involved in the promotion of pacifism and believing women had unique qualities for solving world problems, she established the International Scientific Institute for Feminine Interpretation. In 1982, in recognition of her significant contributions to the Dutch Women's Movement, Posthumus-van der Goot was appointed as an officer in the Order of Orange-Nassau. In 2008, she, her husband and sister, were honored as Righteous Among the Nations by the government of Israel, for their fostering children during the Dutch occupation by the Nazis.
Adri Bleuland van Oordt was a Dutch artist and draftswoman who was active from around 1877 until her death in 1944.
Gerritdina Benders-Letteboer (1909–1980) was a member of the Dutch Resistance, who actively protected multiple Dutch Jewish citizens from Nazi persecution and deportation during World War II. Posthumously declared with her husband, Johan Benders (1907–1943), to be Righteous Among the Nations on 27 March 1997 by Yad Vashem, she and her husband were also honored by The International Raoul Wallenberg Foundation, which placed their names on their “List of Dutch Saviors.”
Marieke Koekkoek is a Dutch lawyer and politician for the pro-European party Volt Netherlands. She was elected to the House of Representatives in the 2021 general election owing to the number of preference votes she received. Prior to being a member of parliament, she studied law and worked as a legal intern.
Johanna Levina Adriana Boogerd-Quaak is a Dutch politician who served two terms as a Member of the European Parliament (MEP) in the European Parliament from 1994 to 1999 and again between 2003 and 2004. She is a member of the Democrats 66 party and of the European Liberal Democrat and Reform Party Group. During her two periods as an MEP, Boogerd-Quaak served on several committees and was vice-chair of each of the Committee on Citizens' Freedoms and Rights, Justice and Home Affairs and the Delegation to the European Economic Area Joint Parliamentary Committee. She was appointed Knight of the Order of Orange-Nassau in 1999.
The 2022–23 Eredivisie was the 67th season of the Eredivisie, the premier football competition in the Netherlands. It began on 5 August 2022 and concluded on 28 May 2023. As the 2022 FIFA World Cup started on 20 November, the last round before stoppage was held on 12–13 November. The league resumed games on 6 January.
Adrienne Cécile Marie Hermans better known as Adrienne van Melle-Hermans was a Dutch peace activist. She is remembered for opposing racist attitudes towards immigrants and for establishing contact with women from Eastern Europe during the Cold War. In 1979 in The Hague, van Melle-Hermans was a co-founder of Vrouwen voor Vrede (VVS), the Dutch branch of the international movement Women for Peace. She participated in three of the United Nations Conferences on Women: in Copenhagen, 1980, Nairobi, 1985 and Beijing, 1995. In 1991, she campaigned against the rape of women in the former Yugoslavia. She was an active representative of Scouting Nederland until she turned 70. In 2005, Adrienne van Melle-Hermans, was one of the Dutch women nominated unsuccessfully for the Nobel Peace Prize.
