The Maritime University Field Lacrosse League (MUFLL) is an association of men's field lacrosse teams connected with universities in New Brunswick, Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island. Teams compete in the fall with league playoffs typically in early November. Established in 2005, the MUFLL currently has six member schools competing.

The Telus Cup is a Canadian university field lacrosse championship, awarded annually to the winner of the post-season tournament by the Maritime University Field Lacrosse League. The Telus Cup tournament is typically held the first weekend in November, and is hosted by one of the member schools.

As of 2024, 19 MUFLL tournaments have been held (not held in 2020). In that span three teams - Dalhousie, St. Francis Xavier, and Saint Mary's - have won the title, Dalhousie leading with sixteen titles.

MUFLL all-time top scorer is Ian McShane with 193 goals, 181 of them with the St. Francis Xavier X-Men after transferring from Mount Allison University following the 2011 season. He also holds the record for most goals scored in a single season with 60 in the 2014 campaign, and is the only player ever to win the league's Top Scorer Award in two individual seasons. [1] [2] McShane is the sole player in MUFLL history to be awarded back-to-back league MVP accolades. [3] Saint Mary's Tyler Leeming also received the award twice in his career. [4] [5]

Field lacrosse is a full contact outdoor sport played with two opposing teams of ten players each. The sport originated among Native Americans, and the modern rules of field lacrosse were initially codified by Canadian William George Beers in 1867. Delby Powless, is a Mohawk lacrosse player from the Six Nations of the Grand River First Nation near Brantford, Ontario. He was born in Six Nations, Ontario, and is the grandnephew of Ross Powless and cousin of Gaylord Powless, both of whom are in the Canadian Lacrosse Hall of Fame. He has played for the Buffalo Bandits of the National Lacrosse League and the Hamilton Nationals of Major League Lacrosse. In 2003, Powless received the Tom Longboat Award as the top male Aboriginal athlete.

The 2007–08 QMJHL season was the 39th season in the history of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League. At the season-opening press conference, the QMJHL announced in partnership with Telus that all 630 regular season games would be available by Internet broadcast. The regular season started on September 13, 2007, and concluded on March 16, 2008. Eighteen teams played seventy games each. The Rouyn-Noranda Huskies finished first overall in the regular season winning their first Jean Rougeau Trophy. They would go on to win 12-straight playoff games before losing in five games in the finals to the Gatineau Olympiques, who captured their seventh President's Cup, and third in the last six seasons.

Cody Jamieson is a Mohawk professional lacrosse player from the Turtle Clan at Grand River. Kevin E. Lowe is a finance executive and retired professional lacrosse player who played professional box lacrosse in the National Lacrosse League and professional field lacrosse in Major League Lacrosse from 1995 to 2006. He starred as a member of the Princeton Tigers men's lacrosse team from 1991 through 1994 and was inducted into the Lacrosse Museum and National Hall of Fame in 2009, joining his brother and father. As a college senior, he was honored as the National Collegiate Athletic Association's best lacrosse attackman and the Ivy League's best player. In his four-year college career, Princeton won its first two NCAA tournament Championship, two Ivy League Championships and earned four NCAA Men's Lacrosse Championship tournament invitations.

Rob Pannell is an American professional lacrosse player who plays for Redwoods Lacrosse Club.

Taylor Cummings is a lacrosse midfielder, formerly for the University of Maryland's women's lacrosse team. Winning the Tewaaraton Trophy in 2014, 2015, and 2016, Cummings was once regarded as the best female collegiate lacrosse player in the country. She helped the Maryland Terrapins win two National Championships in 2014 and in 2015.
