Mark Peter Christian (born 20 November 1990) is a Manx former racing cyclist, who last rode for UCI ProTeam Eolo–Kometa. [2] [3]
A former member of the Great Britain Olympic Development Program, Christian won a bronze medal for the Isle of Man at the 2010 Commonwealth Games in the 40-kilometre (25-mile) Scratch Race. [4] He is the brother of fellow racing cyclist Anna Christian. [5]
In 2007, Christian was signed to the British Olympic Development Program. [4] In 2008, he won the Junioren Rundfahrt in Germany, [6] and picked up a number of medals at the European Track Championships. [7]
In February 2009, Christian was selected for Great Britain at the World Cup in Copenhagen. Later that month, he picked up the British Madison title in Manchester, alongside fellow Manxman Peter Kennaugh. [8] In July, he won silver in the under-23 team pursuit and bronze in the under-23 points race at the European Track Championships in Belarus. [9]
In 2010, Christian was confirmed as part of the Isle of Man squad for the 2010 Commonwealth Games. [10] On 6 October, he finished third in the final of the 40 km Points race in Delhi to win the bronze medal. [11] He also reached the final of the scratch race at the Commonwealth Games, finishing sixth.
Christian began 2011 at the UCI Track World Cup in Beijing. He picked up a bronze medal as part of the team pursuit. [12]
In November 2011, Christian signed for professional UCI team An Post–Sean Kelly. [13]
Christian won the British Madison title for the 3rd time in January 2012, alongside Simon Yates. [14]
He joined Team Raleigh for the 2013 season. [15] In 2015 Christian moved to the new WIGGINS team set up by Bradley Wiggins aiming to prepare British riders for the team pursuit at the 2016 Summer Olympics. [16] Christian joined the Aqua Blue Sport squad for its inaugural season in 2017. [17]
He was named in the startlist for the 2017 Vuelta a España. [18]

Sir Bradley Marc Wiggins, CBE is a British former professional road and track racing cyclist, who competed professionally between 2001 and 2016. He began his cycling career on the track, but later made the transition to road cycling. He won world titles in four disciplines, and Olympic gold in three. He is the only rider to have won both World and Olympic championships on both the track and the road as well as winning the Tour de France. He has worn the leader's jersey in each of the three Grand Tours of cycling and held the world record in team pursuit on multiple occasions. He won a gold medal at four successive Olympic Games from 2004 to 2016, and held the record as Great Britain's most decorated Olympian with 8 medals until Jason Kenny won his 9th in 2021. He is the only rider to win both the Tour de France and Olympic Gold in the same year, winning them a week apart in 2012.
Robert John Hayles is a former track and road racing cyclist, who rode for Great Britain and England on the track and several professional teams on the road. Hayles competed in the team pursuit and Madison events, until his retirement in 2011. He now occasionally provides studio-based analysis of cycle races for British Eurosport.
Gregory Henderson is a New Zealand former professional track and road racing cyclist, who rode professionally between 2002 and 2017. His career includes winning the 15-kilometre (9.3-mile) scratch race at the 2004 world championships and, in road cycling, winning the points competition at the Tour de Georgia in 2005 and 2008.
Christopher Malcolm Newton is a road and track racing cyclist. Newton is a multiple world champion and triple Olympic medalist.
Hayden Roulston is a former New Zealand professional racing cyclist. He won the silver medal in the men's 4000 m individual pursuit and a bronze medal in the men's 4000 m team pursuit at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing. He won the New Zealand road cycling championships on four occasions, the Tour of Southland on three occasions and came tenth in the 2010 edition of Paris - Roubaix.
Peter Robert Kennaugh MBE is a Manx former professional racing cyclist, who rode professionally between 2010 and 2019 for Team Sky and Bora–Hansgrohe. In 2012 he won the gold medal as part of the Great Britain Team Pursuit team at the 2012 Summer Olympics, becoming the first Manxman in 100 years to win gold. On 5 April 2019, he announced that he was taking an indefinite break from professional cycling to focus on his mental health.
Samuel James Harrison is a Welsh former racing cyclist. He has twice won medals at the UCI Track Cycling World Championships, in 2011, and 2013.
Andrew David Tennant is an English former professional track and road racing cyclist, who rode professionally between 2009 and 2021 for six different teams. During his career, Tennant won seven medals at the UCI Track Cycling World Championships, six gold medals at the UEC European Track Championships and a silver medal at the 2014 Commonwealth Games.
Annette Edmondson is an Australian former cyclist who competed on the track with Cycling Australia's High Performance Unit (HPU). She also competed on the road for the Wiggle High5 team between 2015 and 2018.
Aaron Gate is a New Zealand road and track cyclist, who currently rides for UCI ProTeam Burgos BH. He represented his country in track cycling at the 2012, 2016 and 2020 Summer Olympics. Gate is the first New Zealand athlete to win four gold medals at a single Commonwealth Games.
