Courtney Andrew Walsh OJ is a former Jamaican cricketer who represented the West Indies from 1984 to 2001,captaining the West Indies in 22 Test matches. He is a fast bowler and considered one of the all-time greats,best known for a remarkable opening bowling partnership along with fellow West Indian Curtly Ambrose for several years. Walsh played 132 Tests and 205 ODIs for the West Indies and took 519 and 227 wickets respectively. He shared 421 Test wickets with Ambrose in 49 matches. He held the record of most Test wickets from 2000,after he broke the record of Kapil Dev. This record was later broken in 2004 by Shane Warne. He was the first bowler to reach 500 wickets in Test cricket. His autobiography is entitled "Heart of the Lion". Walsh was named one of the Wisden Cricketers of the Year in 1987. In October 2010,he was inducted into the ICC Cricket Hall of Fame. He was appointed as the Specialist Bowling Coach of Bangladesh Cricket Team in August 2016.
An all-rounder is a cricketer who regularly performs well at both batting and bowling. Although all bowlers must bat and quite a handful of batsmen do bowl occasionally,most players are skilled in only one of the two disciplines and are considered specialists. Some wicket-keepers have the skills of a specialist batter and have been referred to as all-rounders,but the term wicket-keeper-batter is more commonly applied to them,even if they are substitute wicket keepers who also bowl.

David Graham Sewell is a former New Zealand cricketer. He played one Test match for New Zealand against Zimbabwe in 1997. He played first-class cricket for Otago between the 1995–96 season and 2005–06.
Todd Duncan Astle is a former New Zealand cricketer who played for the New Zealand national cricket team. Astle began his cricket career as an opening batsman,representing New Zealand in the 2006 Under-19 Cricket World Cup,but over time playing first-class cricket for Canterbury,he morphed into a bowling all-rounder. He made his Test cricket debut for New Zealand in 2012 in Sri Lanka,but did not play another international match until 2015. He represented New Zealand in all three forms of the game,but was unable to keep a consistent place in the team in any format because of regular injury problems and competition with other spin bowlers. In January 2020,Astle retired from first-class cricket to focus on limited-overs cricket. In February 2023 he retired from all forms of professional cricket.
Aaron James Redmond is a former New Zealand international cricketer. He was a member of the Otago cricket team for ten seasons,having previously played for Canterbury. Redmond played as a right-handed batsman. He made eight Test match,six One Day International and seven Twenty20 International appearances for the New Zealand national cricket team between 2008 and 2013.
The University of Otago Oval is a sports ground located at Logan Park,Dunedin,New Zealand,and owned by the Dunedin City Council. It was opened by Sir Louis Barnett on 5 April 1930. The ground was originally owned by the University of Otago,but ownership was transferred to the city council when a redevelopment was completed in the early 2000s.

A left-handed batsman,occasional left-arm spin bowler,Rutherford is the son of former New Zealand Test captain Ken Rutherford and nephew of Ian Rutherford. He was born at Dunedin in 1989 and educated at Otago Boys' High School in the city.
In cricket,a hat-trick occurs when a bowler takes three wickets. The deliveries may be interrupted by an over bowled by another bowler from the other end of the pitch or the other team's innings,but must be three consecutive deliveries by the individual bowler in the same match. Only wickets attributed to the bowler count towards a hat-trick;run outs do not count,although they can contribute towards a so-called team hat-trick,which is ostensibly a normal hat-trick except that the three successive deliveries can be wickets from any bowler in the team and with any mode of dismissal.
Jacob Duffy is a New Zealand cricketer who plays for Otago. Duffy made his senior debut in an HRV Cup match against Northern Districts in January 2012. He made his international debut for the New Zealand cricket team in December 2020.
Thomas William Maxwell Latham is a New Zealand international cricketer who is the vice captain of New Zealand cricket team in Test matches and One Day Internationals. He is the son of former cricketer Rod Latham. He has the most Test centuries for New Zealand opening batsmen. Latham was a member of the New Zealand team that won the 2019–2021 ICC World Test Championship. He was also a part of the New Zealand squad to finish as runners-up at the 2015 Cricket World Cup.
Ronald Osmond Talbot,was a New Zealand sportsman who played first-class cricket between the 1922–23 and 1935–36 seasons,and toured England with the national team in 1931. He also played representative rugby union for Canterbury.
The Rose Bowl,known for sponsorship reasons as Utilita Bowl,is a cricket ground and hotel complex in West End,Hampshire. It is the home of Hampshire County Cricket Club,who have played there since 2001.
