The Weather Channel (TWC) is an American pay television channel owned by Weather Group, LLC, a subsidiary of Allen Media Group. The channel's headquarters are in Atlanta. Launched on May 2, 1982, the channel broadcasts weather forecasts and weather-related news and analysis, along with documentaries and entertainment programming related to weather. A sister network, Weatherscan, was a digital cable and satellite service that offered 24-hour automated local forecasts and radar imagery. Weatherscan was officially shut down on December 12, 2022. The Weather Channel also produces outsourced weathercasts, notably for CBS News and RFD-TV.
AccuWeather Inc. is a private-sector American media company that provides commercial weather forecasting services worldwide.
A weather presenter is a person who presents the weather forecast daily on radio, television or internet news broadcasts. Using diverse tools, such as projected weather maps, they inform the viewers of the current and future weather conditions, explain the reasons underlying this evolution, and relay to the public any weather hazards and warnings issued for their region, country or larger areas. There are no basic qualifications to become a weather presenter; depending on the country and the media, it can range from an introduction to meteorology for a television host to a diploma in meteorology from a recognized university. Therefore a weather presenter is not to be confused with a meteorologist, or weather forecaster, the holder of a diploma in meteorology.
WHIO-TV is a television station in Dayton, Ohio, United States, affiliated with CBS. It has been owned by Cox Media Group since its inception, making it one of two stations that have been built and signed on by Cox. WHIO-TV's transmitter is located off Germantown Street in the Highview Hills neighborhood of southwest Dayton. It shares facilities with sister properties the Dayton Daily News and Cox's Miami Valley radio stations in the Cox Media Center building on South Main Street near downtown Dayton.

Steve Cascione was born in Providence, Rhode Island on November 12, 1954. After graduating from Classical High School in Providence, Cascione attended the University of Rhode Island where he graduated in 1977 with a BA degree in Geography and Meteorology. Cascione attended MIT, where he took graduate courses in weather forecasting. In 1978, he went on to become a forecast meteorologist for AccuWeather in State College, Pennsylvania. In 1980, Cascione returned to Rhode Island, worked at WLNE-TV ABC6, and he created a weather consulting business called Ocean State Weather. During his first stint at WLNE, he hosted the self-titled cooking segment Steve's Cooking Up a Storm.

Keenan Smith is an American television broadcaster who is a reporter/anchor for the morning and noon newscasts at WXYZ-TV in Detroit, Michigan. Smith joined the network around September 2010 and served as the morning and noon meteorologist until March 2018. WXYZ-TV meteorologist Kevin Jeanes succeeded him with this role in the same time frame. Prior to his employment at WXYZ-TV, he was at WPTV in West Palm Beach, Florida, from 2008 to 2010 and WGN-TV and CLTV in Chicago, Illinois, before that.
Jon Nese is a Teaching Professor and Associate Head of Undergraduate Programs in the Department of Meteorology and Atmospheric Science at The Pennsylvania State University. Nese was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and raised in Steubenville, Ohio, and attended Penn State as a student in the 1980s earning his B.S., M.S. and PhD., all in meteorology. Nese worked as a faculty member at the Penn State Beaver and Hazleton campuses from 1989–1998, and returned to the University Park campus in 2005.
Dr. Joseph P. Sobel, a meteorologist, is a native of New York City, New York, USA, and a graduate of George W. Hewlett High School on Long Island. He received his B.S. in meteorology from the University of Michigan in 1967 and an M.S. and Ph.D. in meteorology from the Pennsylvania State University in 1970 and 1976 respectively. Sobel was named a Centennial Fellow of the Penn State College of Earth and Mineral Sciences in 1996 and inducted into the Hewlett High School Hall of Fame in 2001.

She is a science and research writer at Penn State’s Eberly College of Science and has contributed to a number of scientific journals and magazines, including New Scientist, The Humanist, Free Inquiry, and Bulletin of the American Meteorological Society. In 2006, in the wake of Hurricane Katrina, she wrote about the psychological effects of sharing a name with a hurricane, pointing out that the majority, if not all, of hurricanes had been named after women.
