Markus Schafferer (born April 5, 1978) is an Austrian entrepreneur and real estate investor. [1]

Personal life

Schafferer finished his Matura at the Reithmannstraße secondary school [2] and moved on to study law at the University of Innsbruck. [3] During that time, he worked as an art dealer and developed business relations and friendships with wealthy families from Tirol. Those contacts helped him to get into the real estate business. [4] Schafferer is married and has a son and a daughter. [2]

According to the trend magazine, Schafferer is one of the 100 richest people in Austria. [5]

Career

He founded the PEMA Immobilien GmbH in 2005 and acquired as his first big project the Brenner Outlet Center together with the Huter Family. [6] [4] His company realized three towers in Innsbruck, the Headline, P2 and P3, which is still under construction.

Since the founding of PEMA, Schafferer has been involved in several major real estate projects, f. e. the old Creditanstalt-Bankverein building at the Schottenring in Vienna. [7] [8] [9] He was therefore consulted several times by the media as a real estate expert to talk about topics such as the housing situation in Vienna and Innsbruck. [10] [11]

Under his leadership, PEMA has developed real estate projects with a total volume of more than 750 million euros in Austria, Germany and South Tyrol since its foundation in 2005. [12] [13] [14]

Philanthropy

Schafferer is regarded as the sponsor and jury member of the apti Award, which honours start-ups in the real estate industry. [15] [16] In 2017, he also supported the Austria Pavilion at the Venice Biennale. [17]

The Museum der Völker in the Austrian Schwaz in the county of Tyrol was founded in 1995 as a cultural association Haus der Völker by Gert Chesi and belongs to the well known Ethnology museums in Europe. After a new construction and remodeling the exhibition operation opened on the 12th of April 2013 as Museum der Völker. Translated the name means museum of the peoples or museum of the tribes.

At the end of the 1970s he became internationally famous after publishing the book Last Africans, which was translated into six languages. The Tiroler Liga is the top division of Tyrol and the fourth-highest division in Austrian football. The competition is organized by the Tirol Football Association. I will be a feminist." At least 27 SOLANGE installations have appeared in at least 21 cities, in countries including Austria, Slovenia, Morocco, Germany, and the United States. In 2021, Cibulka received the Tyrolean Prize for Contemporary Art from the State of Tyrol.
