Martin David Boonzaayer (born November 1, 1972) [1] is an American judoka, who was a member of the United States of America Judo team at the 2000 and 2004 Olympics. [2] He was a three-time World Team Member, Seven-time National Champion, and won Bronze at the 2003 Pan American Games. He also won ninth place in the 1999 World Championships as well as a Two Time Gold medalist at the US International Invitational (US Open) Championships, in addition to numerous other international podium finishes. [3]

James A. Pedro is an American retired World Champion and Olympic judoka, as well as a current judo coach. Pedro currently holds a 7th degree black belt in judo. He is the coach of Kayla Harrison, the first and currently only American to win an Olympic gold medal in judo.

Teddy Pierre-Marie Riner is a French heavyweight judoka. An eleven-time world champion in the heavyweight (+100 kg) division, two-time openweight world champion and one-time world champion with the French men's team, he is the first and only judoka in history to win twelve gold medals at the World Judo Championships. He is also the only judoka to be a five-time Olympic champion; having won the gold medal in the Men's +100 kg event at the Summer Olympics three times and, as a member of the French team, in the mixed team event twice. Joseph Paul Wanag is an American judoka. He trained under Kiyoshi Shiina. In 1992, Joe competed as member of the judo team representing the United States at the Olympic Summer Games held in Barcelona, Spain. He is a native of Wilton, Fairfield County, Connecticut, and graduated from Saint Lukes School in New Canaan. He is a World University champion and a Pan-American champion. He has also placed in the 1991 World Championships, U.S; Open champion, Collegiate Champion, numerous national championships, and has also been inducted into the U.S. Judo Hall of Fame. Joseph appeared in numerous publications, including the Judo Journal Newspaper, People Magazine, and United States Judo Federation Newspaper. He now lives in Litchfield County, Connecticut, with his children.

Barbara Matić is a Croatian judoka. She won the gold medal at the 2024 Summer Olympics in the women's 70 kg event, and is a two-time world champion and a European champion (2024) in the women's 70 kg division. Matić is also a two-time junior world champion and a junior European champion (2013). She competed at the 2016 Summer Olympics and the 2020 Summer Olympics.

Steven Jay "Steve" Cohen is an American former Olympic judoka and Olympic coach. He won the US National Judo Championships in 1974, 1975, 1977, 1985, and 1987. He won a gold medal at the 1973 Maccabiah Games, a bronze medal at the 1975 Pan American Games, and a silver medal at the 1986 Goodwill Games.

The United States of America (USA), represented by the United States Olympic & Paralympic Committee (USOPC), competed at the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo. Originally scheduled to take place in the summer of 2020, the Games were postponed to July 23 to August 8, 2021, due to the COVID-19 pandemic. U.S. athletes have appeared in every Summer Olympic Games of the modern era, with the exception of the 1980 Summer Olympics in Moscow, which the U.S. boycotted in protest of the Soviet invasion of Afghanistan. The opening ceremony flag-bearers for the United States were baseball player Eddy Alvarez and basketball player Sue Bird. Javelin thrower Kara Winger was the flag-bearer for the closing ceremony. For the third consecutive time in the Summer Olympics, the United States was represented by more female than male athletes.
