Martin Delaney (born June 1982) is an English actor and filmmaker. He has appeared in films such as Zero Dark Thirty , Judas Ghost, and Amar Akbar & Tony .
Delaney was born in Kent in June 1982, the son of an Irish father and Burmese mother. He is one of four children; his sister Jennie is a singer and performer, while his brothers Mike and Pat are both heavily involved in designing commercials and films for football clubs. He had a Catholic upbringing and attended school in Chislehurst, Kent.
Delaney started work in musical theatre, appearing in Peter Pan - The British Musical and Oliver! Following performances in the West End, Delaney swiftly moved into television with the Nickelodeon series, the Renford Rejects . He played loveable Jason Summerbee, the captain of the useless Soccer team and appeared in the show for 4 years. Renford Rejects was Nickelodeon's first UK project and is considered a classic cult children's sit-com. In 2003, he was employed by the same team that made Renford Rejects to Direct episodes of a children's drama, The A-Z of everything and again in 2010 to direct on a pilot for Disney.
Delaney was nominated for the British Soap Awards for Best Young Actor (in 2000), Best Actor and Best Newcomer (both 2001), [1] for his role of Paul Webb in Family Affairs . Post Family Affairs, he also starred in New Zealand's highest rated home-grown drama, Shortland Street , playing an edgy young chef from Scotland called Samuel Whittaker.
He also briefly starred in sitcom Two Pints of Lager and a Packet of Crisps where he played a stylist from Liverpool. Has appeared in BAFTA winning ‘Him & Her’, as well as ‘JOSH’ for BBC.
Technically he has made three movies in Iceland. He starred in Beowulf and Grendel alongside Gerard Butler and Stellan Skarsgård, he played a US marine in the Clint Eastwood directed, Flags of our Fathers with Ryan Phillippe, both shot on location on the island. He also appeared as himself, lent his voice to and co-produced Wrath of Gods , a feature documentary about the making of Beowulf and Grendel. Wrath of Gods won many awards at a number of film festivals.
He has written Queen’s Mile, a short film which was nominated for Best British Film at BAFTA qualifying Iris Prize in 2016. Other writing includes co-writer of additional material for the British Comedy award nominated, The Kevin Bishop Show , in 2008.
He has made two smaller horror pictures. Stormhouse was released in the UK and the US, in which Delaney plays an American military technician Brandon Faber. In Judas Ghost, he plays the lead Jerry Mackay, leader of a Ghost Finder team in a spin-off feature, to New York Times Best Seller, Simon R. Green's Ghost Finder Series.
In 2012, he appeared in a role in Kathryn Bigelow's Oscar winning film about the hunt for Osama Bin Laden, Zero Dark Thirty and starred 2014 in the Fantasy horror film Judas Ghost.
In 2014 he starred opposite Charlie Condou in "Next Fall" at The Southwark Playhouse in the West End, taking the role of Luke. ‘Next Fall’ is American play set in New York, written by Geoffrey Nauffts. 2014 was the UK debut, following a strong opening on Broadway.
In 2015 British comedy film Amar Akbar & Tony opened to a limited audience in the U.K. it is currently shown on Netflix worldwide. Delaney plays Tony in the film, which has been described as an “homage to Bollywood”. 2016 Delaney played Bo Walsh in John M. Chu’s sequel, Now You See Me, Now You See Me 2. He also starred in the sequel to crime thriller Bonded by Blood, Bonded by Blood 2, which focuses on the new generation involved in the Essex gang-wars.

Splodgenessabounds are an English punk rock band formed in Keston, Kent. The band is associated with the Oi! and punk pathetique genres. Their frontman is Max Splodge. They have scored three UK Singles Chart entries, including one Top 10 hit and a second Top 30 hit.
Two Pints of Lager and a Packet of Crisps is a British television sitcom that ran from 26 February 2001 to 24 May 2011. First broadcast on BBC Two, it starred Sheridan Smith, Will Mellor, Natalie Casey, Ralf Little, Kathryn Drysdale, Beverley Callard and, later on in series 7, Luke Gell. The show was created and written by Susan Nickson and set in her hometown of Runcorn, Cheshire, it originally revolved around the lives of five twentysomethings. Little departed after the sixth series, and Smith and Drysdale left after the eighth series. The ninth and final series had major changes with new main cast members and new writers.

Her other work includes the drama Tripping Over (2006), the fourth series of Benidorm (2011) on ITV, the Channel 4 parody The Windsors (2018–2020), and the Netflix period drama Bridgerton (2020–).
Sheridan Caroline Sian Smith OBE is an English actress, singer and television personality. Smith came to prominence after playing a variety of characters on sitcoms such as The Royle Family (1999–2000), Two Pints of Lager and a Packet of Crisps (2001–2009), Gavin & Stacey (2008–2010), and Benidorm (2009). She co-starred as Joey Ross in the drama series Jonathan Creek between 2009 and 2013, and went on to receive acclaim for starring in a succession of television dramas, such as Mrs Biggs (2012), Cilla (2014), The C Word (2015), Black Work (2015), The Moorside (2017), Cleaning Up (2019), and Four Lives (2022). Ralf Alastair John Little is an English actor, writer, presenter, narrator and former semi-professional footballer. He has worked mainly in television comedy, including playing Antony Royle in The Royle Family and Jonny Keogh in the first six series of Two Pints of Lager and a Packet of Crisps (2001–2006). He was the narrator of Channel 5's documentary series Our Yorkshire Farm (2018–2022) as well as the spin-offs, Beyond The Yorkshire Farm: Reuben and Clive and Reuben: Life in the Dales. From 2020 to 2024, he starred as Detective Inspector Neville Parker in Death in Paradise.
Beowulf & Grendel is a 2005 Canadian-Icelandic fantasy adventure film directed by Sturla Gunnarsson, loosely based on the Anglo-Saxon epic poem Beowulf. It stars Gerard Butler as Beowulf, Stellan Skarsgård as Hrothgar, Ingvar Eggert Sigurðsson as Grendel and Sarah Polley as the witch Selma. The screenplay was written by Andrew Rai Berzins. The soundtrack was composed by Hilmar Örn Hilmarsson.

Paul William Mayhew-Archer MBE is a British writer, producer, script editor and actor for the BBC. He is best known as the co-writer of The Vicar of Dibley and Esio Trot alongside Richard Curtis. His solo writing career includes My Hero and Office Gossip, which he created. He was the script editor for Old Harry's Game, Two Pints of Lager and a Packet of Crisps, Grownups, Home Again, Coming of Age and Big Top.
Wrath of Gods is a 2006 documentary film directed by Jon Gustafsson. It tells the story of the dramatic circumstances Canadian director Sturla Gunnarsson and his crew had to go through during the making of the film Beowulf & Grendel. The main focus of the documentary is on director Sturla Gunnarsson, but other participants are Gerard Butler, Paul Stephens, Eric Jordan, Stellan Skarsgård, Peder Pedrero, Wendy Ord and Sarah Polley. The director of Wrath of Gods, Jon Gustafsson, was hired to play one of Beowulf's warriors and he is credited in Beowulf & Grendel as Geat Warrior #2, Gerard Butler and Martin Delaney co-produced the film. The music was composed by Hilmar Örn Hilmarsson.
Coming of Age is a British sitcom, written by Tim Dawson, produced in house by BBC Productions, and broadcast on the former channel BBC Three. The show takes a direct look at five sixth form students, Jas, Ollie, Matt, Chloe and DK, as well as, from series three, new character Robyn Crisp, who are living in Abingdon. Their lives rotate around the fictional Wooton College, their bedrooms, and Ollie's garden shed. A pilot originally aired in 2007, followed by the first series in 2008, a second series in 2010, and a third beginning in January 2011. In 2011, the show was cancelled along with other long running BBC Three programmes including Ideal, Two Pints of Lager and a Packet of Crisps, Hotter Than My Daughter, and Doctor Who Confidential. The first series was released on DVD on 26 October 2009, however, no further series have been released on DVD.

Among her leading roles have been those of Rosie, a member of "The Ace Gang" in Angus, Thongs and Perfect Snogging, and as JJ's love interest, Lara, in Skins. His theatre performance in Extra Virgin earned him an Off West End Theatre Award nomination for Best Actor. Hogan is filming the new BBC1, 7-part series of Jonathan Strange & Mr Norell as Davey.
