Early life and education

Nusspaumer was born in Juan Lacaze, Uruguay. [2] He studied in Montevideo [3] at the Municipal School of Music and National School of Lyrical Art and received an artist diploma from the School of the Arts in Charleston, South Carolina. [4] He graduated from the Florida Grand Opera's Young Artist Program [5] and was a finalist in the Palm Beach Opera Vocal Competition and the Southern Region Auditions of the Metropolitan Opera. [6]

Career

Nusspaumer has performed as a soloist with orchestras and opera companies including Miami Symphony, [7] Charleston Symphony, [8] Ankara's Presidential Symphony Orchestra, [9] Odessa Philharmonic, [10] Orchestra Firenze, Philharmonic of Montevideo, [11] the South Florida Symphony Orchestra [12] and Istanbul Symphony Orchestra. [13]

Nusspaumer has had principal roles in operas including La bohème , [14] Carmen , [15] Lucia di Lammermoor , [16] La traviata , [17] Madama Butterfly , [18] Eugene Onegin , [19] La battaglia di Legnano , [20] Don Giovanni , [21] "Thais , [22] Nabucco , [23] and L'elisir d'amore . He is also active in the zarzuela genre including Luisa Fernanda , [24] La tabernera del puerto , [25] Katiuska, la mujer rusa  [ es ] by Pablo Sorozábal, [26] and Cecilia Valdés [27] and has promoted this genre around the United States. His performances have drawn accolades for powerful top notes, earning a reputation as a tenor with a clarion notes. [32] [33]

Personal life

Nusspaumer resides in South Florida with his wife, mezzo-soprano María Antúnez, [34] [35] and daughter Amelia [36] [37]

Michele Mariotti, born in 1979 in Urbino, near Pesaro, is an Italian conductor, the direttore musicale since 2014 of Teatro Comunale di Bologna. A graduate in composition of Pesaro's Conservatorio Rossini, where he also studied orchestral conducting, he made his professional opera debut with Il barbiere di Siviglia in Salerno on Oct. 12, 2005. As of April 2017, his repertory included nine Rossini and eight Verdi operas, an extraordinary achievement, as well as symphonies of Beethoven, Bruckner and Schubert, the Rossini Stabat mater, the Mozart Requiem and the Verdi Requiem.
