Marvin Young (born 2 October 2005) is a Dutch professional footballer who plays as a centre-back for the Eredivisie club Sparta Rotterdam.

Club career

A youth product of SV Jong Ambon, he shortly after joined the academy of Sparta Rotterdam at the age of 9 where he continued his development. He started playing with their reserves in the Tweede Divisie, Jong Sparta, in 2023. [2] On 22 June 2024, he signed a contract with Sparta until 2027. [3] He made his senior and professional debut with Sparta Rotterdam in a 2–1 Eredivisie win over Willem II on 31 August 2024. [4] On 20 January 2025, he extended his contract with Sparta until 2029. [5] He was named the Johan Cruyff Talent of the Month for the month of March 2025. [6]

International career

Young was born in the Netherlands to a Surinamese father and Dutch mother. In 2023, he was called up to the Netherlands U18s for a set of friendlies. [2]
