Mary Beth Rosson is the director of graduate programs and professor at the Penn State College of Information Sciences and Technology. Rosson also co-directs the collaboration and innovation lab. [1] Most of her research concentrates on End User Programming,Computer Supported Cooperative Work (CSCW),and Human-Computer Interaction (HCI). Prior to teaching at Penn State,Rosson taught at the Virginia Tech Computer Science department for 10 years and worked as a research staff manager at IBM's Thomas J. Watson Research Center for 11 years. Rosson also served as the Dean for the Penn State College of Information Sciences and Technology from 2014 to 2016. Rosson earned her Ph.D. in experimental psychology in 1982 from the University of Texas at Austin and her Bachelors in Psychology from Trinity University(Texas) in 1977. [2]
Rosson currently co-directs Penn State's CSCL Lab with her husband,John Carroll. She is a founding member of the End Users Shaping Effective Software (EUSES) Consortium,which focuses on issues and techniques related to end-user software engineering. Her other research interests include community informatics,environments and tools for object-oriented programming and design,and visual programming environments. She has also done work related to scenario-based design and minimalism [3] [4] Rosson and Carroll co-developed the task-artifact framework for design. [5]
Rosson and Carroll have co-authored a book,Usability Engineering:Scenario-Based Development of Human-Computer Interaction. [4] Rosson has co-authored dozens of book chapters. She has authored or co-authored over one hundred journal articles and refereed conference proceedings [6] Rosson has over 423 publications as of 2022. She also has collaborated with IntechOpen to edit the book "Advances in Learning Processes". This contains a collection of papers on topics relating to technology in educational settings.
Usability engineering is a field that is concerned generally with human–computer interaction and specifically with devising human–computer interfaces that have high usability or user friendliness. It provides structured methods for achieving efficiency and elegance in interface design.

James D. Hollan is professor of cognitive science and adjunct professor of computer science at the University of California,San Diego. In collaboration with Professor Edwin Hutchins,he directs the Distributed Cognition and Human–Computer Interaction Laboratory at UCSD,and co-directs the Design Lab. Hollan has also spent time working at Xerox PARC and at Bellcore. He was elected to the CHI Academy in 2003 and received the ACM SIGCHI Lifetime Research Award in 2015.

Sara Beth (Greene) Kiesler is the Hillman Professor Emerita of Computer Science and Human Computer Interaction in the Human-Computer Interaction Institute at Carnegie Mellon University. She is also a program director in the Directorate for Social,Behavioral &Economic Sciences at the US National Science Foundation,where her responsibilities include programs on Future of Work at the Human-Technology Frontier,Training-based Workforce Development for Advanced Cyberinfrastructure,and Smart and Connected Communities. She has held a number of positions in the ACM including Secretary Treasurer from 2016-2018 and Executive Vice President from 2018-2020.
Victoria Bellotti is a Senior CI researcher in the Member Experience Team at Netflix. Previously,she was a user experience manager for growth at Lyft and a research fellow at the Palo Alto Research Center. She is known for her work in the area of personal information management and task management,but from 2010 to 2018 she began researching context-aware peer-to-peer transaction partner matching and motivations for using peer-to-peer marketplaces which led to her joining Lyft. Victoria also serves as an adjunct professor in the Jack Baskin School of Engineering at University of California Santa Cruz,on the editorial board of the Personal and Ubiquitous Computing and as an associate editor for the International Journal of HCI. She is a researcher in the Human–computer interaction community. In 2013 she was awarded membership of the ACM SIGCHI Academy for her contributions to the field and professional community of human computer interaction.
Vicki Hanson FACM FRSE FBCS,is an American computer scientist noted for her research on human-computer interaction and accessibility and for her leadership in broadening participation in computing.
S. Joy Mountford is an internationally recognized leader in the field of computer-human interaction or interface design. From 1986 to 1994,she was Head of the Human Interface Group at Apple Computer where she invented,among other things,the initial use of QuickTime. In 2012,Mountford won the Lifetime Practice Award from SIGCHI and was invited to join the CHI Academy. She was given an Osher Fellowship Award at the Exploratorium in San Francisco. In 2019,she received the Mission College Women Leadership award.

She is a member of the CHI Academy and a recipient of a European Research Council Advanced grant. Karen Holtzblatt is an American computer scientist known for her contributions in human–computer interaction,and particularly in contextual design. She founded InContext Design in 1992,and is its CEO. Holtzblatt was elected to the CHI Academy in 2007 and won the inaugural ACM SIGCHI Lifetime Award for Practice in 2010. Holzblatt is also affiliated with the University of Maryland,as a research scientist in the Human-Computer Interaction Lab and iSchool.
