The University of Colorado Colorado Springs (UCCS) is a public research university in Colorado Springs,Colorado. It is one of four campuses that make up the University of Colorado system. As of Fall 2023,UCCS had over 11,000 students,including more than 9,000 undergraduates and nearly 2,000 graduate students. It is classified among "R2:Doctoral Universities –High research activity".
Pikes Peak International Raceway (PPIR) is a racetrack in the Colorado Springs area within the city limits of Fountain,Colorado,that by October 12,1997,was "the fastest 1-mile paved oval anywhere". The speedway hosted races in several series including the Indy Racing League and two NASCAR series until operations were suspended from August 2005. A wide variety of amateur racing groups use PPIR for racing and training as the circuit is now closed to sanctioned professional auto racing due to the purchase of the track by PPIR LLC from NASCAR/ISC in 2008 after the track was put up for sale in 2006. The sale included a clause that prohibited sanctioned professional auto racing,as well as the need for additional safety upgrades at a cost of $1 million+ for professional racing series that the new ownership had no interest in implementing with the clause in place.

The Cultural Office of the Pikes Peak Region (COPPeR) is a certified nonprofit arts organization located in downtown Colorado Springs,Colorado and serving El Paso and Teller counties. In February 2014,Andy Vick replaced Christina McGrath as COPPeR's executive director. COPPeR receives funding from the city of Colorado Springs and from various grants. It acts as an umbrella artistic service,"the lead entity for centralizing and coordinating information about cultural services in the Pikes Peak region of Colorado." COPPeR conceptualizes itself as an adhesive that unifies the greater arts community to make arts and culture more dynamic and powerful than any one organization. COPPeR invites and engages residents and visitors to draw them into the local arts scene;it advocates for all of the arts;and it builds the cultural community to create a regional brand.

Gloria Travis Tanner was a politician and public figure in Colorado. A Democrat,she served in the Colorado House of Representatives from 1985-1994. In 1994,she became the first African American woman to serve as a Colorado state senator. In 2000,she founded a leadership and training institute for black women in Colorado. She was inducted into the Colorado Women's Hall of Fame in 2002.
Sue Anschutz-Rodgers is an American rancher,conservationist,and philanthropist. Owner of the Crystal River Ranch in Roaring Fork Valley,Colorado,she is a strong proponent of conservationism and preservation of the heritage of the American West,and helped implement the legal concept of conservation easements in the state. She is the chair and president of the Anschutz Family Foundation,which funds nonprofits,and also heads the Sue Anschutz-Rodgers Fund,which funds projects promoting women's self-sufficiency. She is an active member of many state and national boards. She was inducted into the Colorado Women's Hall of Fame in 2008 and the Colorado Business Hall of Fame in 2017.
Cragmor,first known as Cragmoor,is an area in northeastern Colorado Springs,Colorado,between Templeton Gap and Austin Bluffs. A coal mining site during the 19th century,the area became known as the Cragmor around the turn of the century because the Cragmor Sanitorium was located there. By the 1950s,the mines were abandoned and the land was developed for housing. Cragmor was annexed to the City of Colorado Springs in the early 1960s. The Cragmor Sanatorium became the main hall for the University of Colorado Colorado Springs campus.
Juana María Bordas is a Nicaraguan–American community activist specializing in leadership development and diversity training. She is a founder of several Denver,Colorado-area organizations promoting Latino and Latina leadership,including the Mi Casa Resource Center for Women,the National Hispana Leadership Institute,and Mestiza Leadership International,where she currently serves as president. She has authored two books and is a motivational speaker and workshop presenter for conferences and businesses. The recipient of numerous awards and honors,she was inducted into the Colorado Women's Hall of Fame in 1997.

Anna Jo Garcia Haynes is a former educator in Colorado who specialized in early childhood education. She was instrumental in early childhood education development in Colorado,where she founded the Mile High Montessori Early Learning Centers in Denver,founded the Mile High Montessori Early Learning Centers,co-founded Colorado Children's Campaign,and has been recognized by many organizations in Colorado including the Colorado Women's Hall of Fame.
