Mary Winfred Koranteng (born 25 December 1922) was a Ghanaian civil servant and politician. She served as a member of the Parliament of Ghana from 1960 to 1966. From 1960 to 1965,she was the Second Member for the Eastern Region,and from 1965 to 1966,she was the member of parliament for Swedru-Achiase.
Koranteng was born on 25 December 1922 at Achiase. [1] [2] [3] She had her early education at Mmofraturo School,where she obtained her Standard Seven Certificate in 1940 upon graduation. [1] [2]
Koranteng begun as a dressmaker in 1944 while keeping a store selling wax print. She remained in Achiase until 1960 when she was elected into parliament in 1960. [4] Aside dressmaking,Koranteng was also involved in timber business,she prepared timber concessions for timber merchants. In 1960 Koranteng was among the first women to enter the Parliament of Ghana under the representation of the people (women members) act. She was among the 10 women who were elected unopposed on 27 June 1960 on the ticket of the Convention People's Party. [5] [6] She was the Second Member for the Eastern Region. [5] [7] In 1965,she was made member of parliament for Swedru-Achease until 1966 when the Nkrumah government was overthrown. [8]
Shortly after her graduation from school she was married to Mr. Asafu-Adjei until 1943 when he died. She married once more in 1951 to Kwame Nkrumah, [9] the first president of Ghana,and together they had a daughter. [4] [10] [11] In 1955,the marriage was dissolved. She later had four other children from other associations and marriages. [4]

Prior to politics,Aduhene was a teacher at Sefwi Wiawso.
Kweku Akwei,also known as Isaac Lamptey Vanderpuije,was a Ghanaian politician. He was the member of parliament for the Ayawaso constituency from 1965 to 1966. While in parliament,he was the head of the Parliamentary Disciplinary Control Committee. Prior to entering parliament,he was the head of party education for the Convention People's Party.

Kwesi Amoako-Atta was a Ghanaian banker and politician. During the First Republic,he served as the Minister for Finance from 1964 to 1966. He also served as a member of parliament for the Akim Abuakwa West constituency from 1964 to 1965 and the Kade constituency from 1965 to 1966. Prior to politics,Amoako-Atta was a banker. He worked with the Bank of British West Africa and the Bank of the Gold Coast prior to his appointment as deputy Governor of the Bank of Ghana. He was the deputy Governor of the Bank of Ghana from 1960 until 1964 when he resigned to enter politics.
Robert Okyere Amoako-Atta was a Ghanaian politician. During the first republic,he served as the Regional Commissioner for the Ashanti Region on three occasions. He also served as the Minister of Labour and Co-operative from 1960 to 1961 and the Regional Commissioner for the Brong Ahafo Region from 1963 to 1965. In 1954,he became the member of parliament representing the Obuasi constituency. He served in that capacity until February 1966 when the Nkrumah government was overthrown.
