Maryam Afifa (born 1993, Hindi: मरियम अफीफा अंसारी, Urdu: مریم عفیفہ, Romanized: Maryam 'Afīfa) is an Indian neurosurgeon who is the a Muslim Female neurosurgeon in India. Though, few articles suggest that she is first Muslim female neurosurgeon from India, the sources are of low-quality and probably paid/self-advertised. It is more plausible that she's first from Hyderabad city [1] [2] [3] [4] [5] [6] [7] . Dr Sheena Ali is another female muslim active neurosurgeon since 2021 according to her Orcid profile
She secured 137th rank in the All India Neet SS exam. [8] She completed her MBBS from Osmania University, then pursued her post-graduation in General surgery from the same. [9] She went on to train at the Royal College of Surgeons of England, and then passed the boards in India. [10]
