The current district geographic boundary overlaps with those of the Massachusetts House of Representatives' 2nd Franklin, 2nd Hampden, 7th Hampden, 8th Hampden, 9th Hampden, 10th Hampden, 11th Hampden, 12th Hampden, 2nd Hampshire, and 3rd Hampshire districts. [5]

It covers an area of 1,529.5 square miles across the expanse of Berkshire, Hampshire, Hampden and Franklin counties. Democrat Adam Hinds of Pittsfield has represented the district since 2017.
