Theo Jerome Kerlin (born 7 May 1989) is a British MC who is credited by his stage name Master Shortie. He is also a singer and has established his own record label, Odd One Out. [1] He was included in the Sound of 2009 poll. [2]
Kerlin is from Mitcham in South London. His father ran an east London jazz bar throughout his childhood, which led him to listen to many genres of music, encouraging him to start rapping at the age of 12. [ citation needed ]
He started off at The Kidz in the Biz Academy in South East London. After a short stint at the BRIT School, [1] at the age of 14, he soon dropped out, claiming "it wasn't me, it didn't suit me". At 16, Kerlin enrolled on a BTEC course at Nescot, studying Music Technology. He then started recording and producing his own adolescent hip-hop songs with producers and an underground reggae singer called Sparky.
Kerlin also appeared as Simba in a West End production of the Lion King. [3]
In 2005, Kerlin started to support American urban acts such as ATL at the Hackney Empire, the Scala and Shepherd's Bush Empire.
He was asked to support Hadouken! on their UK tour, as he shares the same management company as them. [4] [5]
In September 2008,Theo Kerlin released his debut single, "Rope Chain", alongside a music video which gathered popularity on YouTube. In December 2008, Master Shortie was enlisted in the Sound of 2009 poll, [2] whereby he was tipped to be the one to look out for in 2009. He stated that the hype was helping him "work twice as hard". [6] In January 2009, Master Shortie stated that his new album, A.D.H.D , [6] was slated to release in the summer of 2009. [6] Citing that the reason for the album name is that "my music is just so crazy and it's so all over the place and it craves attention." [6] In April, Master Shortie released his third single, "Dance Like a White Boy", which was shortly followed by the aforementioned album. The track "Swagger Chick" features Vanessa White from girlgroup The Saturdays.
In the spring of 2009 Master Shortie supported Basement Jaxx on their UK tour.
Master Shortie played at the 2009 Wireless Festival on the 4th of July. [7] In October 2009 he supported Lil Wayne at his three Hammersmith Apollo dates in London.
In March 2010, Master Shortie announced that he and his record label, Odd One Out, had signed to Hitz Committee, RCA (formerly Jive) and Sony.
In 2012, Master Shortie's mixtape Studying Abroad was released. The record featured artists such as Ed Sheeran, Rizzle Kicks and Chiddy.
Through October 2013 Master Shortie worked on his latest piece. He announced over Twitter that it would be named Nobody Taught Me and also shared the EP's artwork. On 4 November 2013, he released the first song of the album, "Where I'm At". It debuted on the music sharing site SoundCloud, where he had had a presence for over a year.

He gained fame as a rapper in the early 2000s after signing with his father, Master P's record label No Limit Records. Labrinth signed as a recording artist with Simon Cowell's record label Syco Music in 2010, initially collaborating with the English rapper Tinie Tempah. He appeared as a featured artist: uncredited on the single "Pass Out", but later officially on "Frisky"; then he released his first solo single, "Let the Sun Shine" in September. All three songs peaked in the top five on the UK Singles Chart.

"Earthquake" is a song by British musician Labrinth which features long-time collaborator Tinie Tempah. The track was released on 23 October 2011 in the United Kingdom as the second single from the artist's debut studio album, Electronic Earth (2012). It debuted at number two on the UK Singles Chart, having sold 115,530 copies and setting the second-highest one-week sales at number 2 of the year, behind Little Mix.
"Forgiveness" is a single from Tottenham-born rapper Wretch 32 that appears on his second album Black and White and features vocals from British and Odd Child Recordings-signed singer Etta Bond. The lyrical content on the song follows Wretch asking forgiveness of those around him as he attempts to pursue his dream – including his son. Cited as his favourite track from the album, the song was selected as the fourth single to see release in the United Kingdom and was released as a digital download on 11 December 2011. The track was edited for the official release, removing the first minute of the track in which producer Labrinth sings his version of the chorus.
Conor Paul Maynard is an English singer. Born and raised in Brighton, he signed a recording contract with Warner Music Group in 2011. Maynard rose to fame in 2012 when he was nominated for, and subsequently won, MTV's Brand New for 2012 award. His debut album, Contrast, was released in July 2012 which produced the successful single "Can't Say No". Demonstration is the second studio album by British rapper Tinie Tempah. The album was released on 4 November 2013 as the follow-up to his commercially successful debut album, Disc-Overy (2010). In December 2010, Tempah announced he was writing for his second album, saying there would be a more electronic and live feel to it. The first two singles from the album, "Trampoline" and "Children of the Sun" were released in the run-up to the album and both managed to enter the top ten of the UK Singles Chart. The album features collaborations with producers and guest artists such as Labrinth and Diplo and sees Tempah experimenting with new musical genres.

Sigma are an English drum and bass DJ and record production duo consisting of Cameron James Edwards and Joseph Aluin Lenzie. They met at Leeds University at drum and bass nights. Their 2010 collaboration with DJ Fresh, "Lassitude", peaked at number 98 on the UK Singles Chart. Their single "Nobody to Love" topped the UK Singles Chart, becoming their first UK number one. Their second was the follow-up single "Changing", featuring Paloma Faith.
