Matt is an unincorporated community in Forsyth County, Georgia, United States. It is located on Georgia State Route 369, which is named Matt Highway where it passes through the community.
A post office was in operation at Matt from 1896 until 1911. [1] The identity of the town's namesake is unclear; it possibly was named after Matt J. Williams, a county judge. [2]

The county's only incorporated city and county seat is Cumming. At the 2020 census, the population was 251,283. Forsyth was the fastest-growing county in Georgia and the 15th fastest-growing county in the United States between 2010 and 2019.

In the 2020 census, the population is 7,318, up from 5,430 in 2010. Surrounding unincorporated areas with a Cumming mailing address have a population of approximately 100,000. Cumming is the county seat of Forsyth County.
Suwanee is a city in Gwinnett County and a part of the Atlanta metropolitan area in the U.S. state of Georgia. As of the 2010 census, the population was 15,355; this had grown to an estimated 20,907 as of 2019.

Milton County was a county of the U.S. state of Georgia from 1857 to 1931. It was created on December 18, 1857, from parts of northeastern Cobb, southeastern Cherokee, and southwestern Forsyth counties. The county was named for John Milton, Secretary of State of Georgia from 1777 to 1799. Alpharetta was the county seat until the end of 1931, when Milton was merged with Fulton County to save it from bankruptcy during the Great Depression. At that time, Campbell County, which had already gone bankrupt, was also ceded to Fulton, giving it its 70-mile (110 km) long irregular shape along the Chattahoochee River.
The Chattahoochee River forms the southern half of the Alabama and Georgia border, as well as a portion of the Florida and Georgia border. It is a tributary of the Apalachicola River, a relatively short river formed by the confluence of the Chattahoochee and Flint rivers and emptying from Florida into Apalachicola Bay in the Gulf of Mexico. The Chattahoochee River is about 430 miles (690 km) long. The Chattahoochee, Flint, and Apalachicola rivers together make up the Apalachicola–Chattahoochee–Flint River Basin. The Chattahoochee makes up the largest part of the ACF's drainage basin.
Central Georgia Technical College (CGTC) is a unit of the Technical College System of Georgia (TCSG) and provides education for an eleven-county service area in central Georgia. Leila Alice Denmark was an American pediatrician in Atlanta, Georgia. She was the world's oldest practicing pediatrician until her retirement in May 2001 at the age of 103, after 73 years. She was a supercentenarian, living to the age of 114 years, 60 days.
State Route 369 (SR 369) is a west-to-east state highway in the northern part of the U.S. state of Georgia. It travels from its intersection with SR 20 near the community of Macedonia in eastern Cherokee County, through northern Forsyth County, bisecting the county, to its eastern terminus in the northeastern part of Gainesville in Hall County.
Free Home is an unincorporated community in the eastern part of Cherokee County, Georgia, United States. Centered at the intersection of state highways 20 and 372, the rural community has seen moderate suburbanization of the area since the late 1990s. It is home to Free Home Elementary School. The community is home to a Publix Supermarket center, which has a few stores/restaurants. There is also a Tractor Supply Company that was completed in September 2011.
South Forsyth High School is a public high school, built in 1989, located in Cumming, Georgia, a suburb northeast of Atlanta. It is one of eight public high schools in the Forsyth County School District, and serves students who live in parts of unincorporated Cumming. In 2017, South Forsyth High School was ranked #416 on US News' "Best High Schools Ranking". The school has been given an "A" rating and Platinum status by the Governor's Office of Student Achievement for more than five years. South Forsyth High School has offered the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme and the Career-Related Programme since 2000 and 2012, respectively.

Coal Mountain is an unincorporated community in Forsyth County, Georgia, United States. The Coal Mountain area lies at the intersection of GA-369 and SR-9. It was once home to a post office that served the small community. North Forsyth High School, North Forsyth Middle School, Coal Mountain Elementary School, Coal Mountain Park, Coal Mountain Baptist Church, Mountain Lake Church, Regions Bank Coal Mountain are all located in Coal Mountain. It lies at an elevation of 1220 feet.
Lambert High School is a public high school in Suwanee, in Forsyth County, Georgia, United States. It is the one of eight high schools in the Forsyth County School District. The school has an annual enrollment of about 3,000 students. Most students who attend Lambert reside in southern Forsyth County, an affluent area located between Johns Creek, Suwanee, and Cumming. Lambert was built to alleviate over-crowding at South Forsyth High School, which is located 3.8 miles away on Peachtree Parkway.
North Forsyth High School is a public high school located in Cumming, Georgia, United States, a suburb northeast of Atlanta. The school is located at 3635 Coal Mountain Drive. It is one of seven high schools in the Forsyth County School System and serves students residing in Northern Forsyth County, including the communities of Matt, Coal Mountain, Silver City, Chestatee and Oscarville.

She was also known for philanthropic work including establishing the first community forest in Georgia. In 2002 she was posthumously named a Georgia Woman of Achievement.
