Silver City is an unincorporated community in Dawson and Forsyth counties, in the U.S. state of Georgia. [1]
A post office called Silver City was established in 1886, and remained in operation until 1907. [2] The community's name most likely is a transfer from a city in the Western United States. [3]
Silver City was a former trading post and home to one of the first telephone lines in Forsyth County. [4]
As the community is located across two adjacent counties, the Silver City community's students are served by both the Forsyth County School District and the Dawson County School District.

Previously represented by Democrat Lucy McBath, the district's boundaries were redrawn following the 2020 census to be significantly more Republican-leaning than it had been in the previous decade. As a result, McBath announced that she would be running against Carolyn Bourdeaux in the Democratic primary in the neighboring 7th congressional district, which she subsequently won. Free Home is an unincorporated community in the eastern part of Cherokee County, Georgia, United States. Centered at the intersection of state highways 20 and 372, the rural community has seen moderate suburbanization of the area since the late 1990s. It is home to Free Home Elementary School. The community is home to a Publix Supermarket center, which has a few stores/restaurants. There is also a Tractor Supply Company that was completed in September 2011.

Coal Mountain is an unincorporated community in Forsyth County, Georgia, United States. The Coal Mountain area lies at the intersection of GA-369 and SR-9. It was once home to a post office that served the small community. North Forsyth High School, North Forsyth Middle School, Coal Mountain Elementary School, Coal Mountain Park, Coal Mountain Baptist Church, Mountain Lake Church, Regions Bank Coal Mountain are all located in Coal Mountain.
