Matthew Michael Serletic II (born 1970 or 1971) is an American record producer, songwriter, and music executive.
As a teenager, Serletic joined a band with members of Collective Soul – a group for which he would later produce. [1] Serletic has worked with several other popular bands and artists for Atlantic Records, including Matchbox Twenty, [2] Cher, Blessid Union of Souls, Edwin McCain, Stacie Orrico, Taylor Hicks, Rob Thomas, [2] and singer/songwriter Angie Aparo. Serletic worked with American Idol winner David Cook on his second studio album. He also preceded Jason Flom as chairman of Virgin Records – a position he held from 2002 to 2005. [3] He also worked with Joe Cocker, writing and producing his album, Hard Knocks and in 1999 he produced Santana's hit song "Smooth" [2] on the Arista record label with Rob Thomas for what would be his first song as a solo artist (Thomas and Serletic were well known for making Matchbox Twenty's debut album Yourself or Someone Like You ) and in 1998 he produced the song "I Don't Want to Miss a Thing" by Aerosmith on Hollywood Records, Epic Records, and Columbia Records for the film Armageddon . In 2011, he wrote the song "(Kissed You) Good Night" for the band Gloriana.
In 2004, at the age of 33, he was named to Crain's New York Business "40 Under 40" list. [4] In 2011, Serletic became a reality show judge on the television show CMT's Next Superstar. [5]
Serletic is the owner of Emblem Music Group [6] and currently resides in Calabasas, California, with his wife, Ramona, and their two children. He also helped the rock super-group Class of '99 in covering Pink Floyd's "Another Brick in the Wall" for the film The Faculty , contributing on the keyboard. [7]
Collective Soul is an American rock band originally from Stockbridge, Georgia. Now based in Atlanta, the group consists of the brothers Ed and Dean Roland, Will Turpin (bassist), Johnny Rabb (drummer), and Jesse Triplett. Formed in 1992, the original lineup consisted of the Roland brothers, bassist David Neal, guitarist Ross Childress, and drummer Shane Evans. Collective Soul released their Hints, Allegations, and Things Left Unsaid album on the independent label Rising Storm Records in 1993. The band went from obscurity to popularity that year after the album's lead single "Shine" received regional radio play. Around the same time, Turpin replaced Neal on bass. The album was then re-released in 1994 by the major label Atlantic Records; thus, "Shine" became a national hit as it peaked at No. 1 on the Mainstream Rock and No. 4 on the Mainstream Top 40 chart.
More Than You Think You Are is the third studio album by American rock band Matchbox Twenty, released on November 19, 2002. The album is again a departure for the band as it has more of a focus on harder rock than the band's two previous albums. Five singles were released from the album: "Disease", "Unwell", "Bright Lights", "Downfall", and "All I Need". "Downfall" was released only in the United States while "All I Need" was issued only in Australia.

Tabitha's Secret was an American rock band formed in March 1990 in Orlando, Florida. It was originally composed of lead vocalist Rob Thomas, John Leslie Goff and Jay Stanley on guitar, Brian Yale on bass, and Chris Smith playing drums. In September 1990, Paul Doucette joined the band as a second percussionist, only to replace Chris Smith entirely a year later. Some of the band's most popular songs were "And Around", "Dear Joan", "Unkind", "Forever December", "Paint Me Blue", and "3AM". The group is best known as a precursor to Matchbox Twenty, which was formed by Thomas, Yale, and Doucette after the breakup of Tabitha's Secret.
Gloriana was an American country music group founded in 2008 by Cheyenne Kimball, Rachel Reinert (vocals), and brothers Tom Gossin and Mike Gossin. Prior to the group's foundation, Kimball recorded as a solo artist. The original lineup recorded one self-titled album for Emblem/Reprise Records in 2009, which included their first chart hit, "Wild at Heart". Kimball left before the release of the band's second album A Thousand Miles Left Behind, which produced their highest-charting single, "(Kissed You) Good Night", along with the top 20 "Can't Shake You". After a third album, Three, Reinert left as well, effectively disbanding the group.
