Acting

Early in his career Wilkinson performed on stage and screen. [1] [2]

He took roles in 1998's The Avengers [3] and The Tichborne Claimant directed by David Yates [4] and The Jolly Boys' Last Stand (2000). [5] He appeared in the Channel 4 series Shackleton [6] and 2002 Working Title films Ali G Indahouse and About a Boy . [7] [8]

In 2005 he played Fingerman in V for Vendetta (Warner Bros.). [9]  

Voice

Wilkinson has voiced multiple radio and TV commercials including the iconic series If Carlsberg did... [10]

In 2006 he played Scott in Blizzard: Race to the Pole (BBC) [11] and narrated series 2 Cops With Cameras (ITV, 2007). [12]

His first role in animation was Weasel in Watership Down (CITV, 1999). [13] Further work followed with The Adventures of Bottle Top Bill and His Best Friend Corky (Channel 5, 2005-6), [14] Empire Square (Channel 4, 2006-7) produced and directed by Dave Rowntree, [15] 64 Zoo Lane (CBeebies 2000-2012) [16] and the title role in cult show Bunny Maloney (MoonScoop). [17]

From 2009-2021 Wilkinson contributed over 20 characters to Thomas & Friends (HIT Entertainment) for US and UK including Rocky, Spencer, Kevin, Charlie, Stanley, Scruff, Cranky, Butch and Farmer McColl. [18]

He starred in Trust Me I'm A Genie (Millimages, 2011), [19] Justin and the Knights of Valour (Kandor, 2013), [20] played rude-boy Stevie in The Unbeatables (Universal) [21] and voiced Termiton Jusk in Big Finish's Doctor Who: Tales from New Earth. [22] He took the role of Mr Fuzzy in 2019's 101 Dalmatian Street (Disney). [23]

In 2024 he recorded Jerry J in Yugly (nWave) [24] and Gregor in Kaja The Unstoppable (Storm Studios). [25]

He is best known to gamers as Murmur in Hellgate:London. [26]

Writing | Directing

In 2002 Wilkinson wrote and directed his first play Sun is Shining about an explosive love affair between a British Chinese trader and a Glaswegian artist. [27] A sell-out at the Kings Head Theatre, London and BAC Time Out Critics' Choice season (2003), it transferred to the Brits Off Broadway Festival] at 59E59 Theaters in New York in 2004. [28] [29]

In 2003 Wilkinson co-adapted and performed in Red Demon by Hideki Noda. It played at the Young Vic and Theatre Cocoon, Tokyo. [30]

His play Red Sea Fish (Brighton Dome Studio | 59E59 Theaters, New York) was staged in 2009. [31]

Since 2015 Wilkinson has collaborated with producer Pádraig Cusack. That year he wrote and directed My Eyes Went Dark at the Finborough Theatre. [32] Starring Cal MacAninch and Thusitha Jayasundera it was nominated for three Off West End Awards including Best Play. The production transferred to the Traverse Theatre, Edinburgh 2016 and 59E59 Theaters New York 2017. [33] [34]

In 2021 he wrote and directed Psychodrama as a pop-up in North London. It received Off West End Award nominations for Lead Performance in a Play: Emily Bruni and Sound Design: Gareth Fry. [35] The show transferred to the Traverse Theatre for the Edinburgh Fringe 2022 where it was nominated for Off Fest Award for Best Theatre. [36] [37]

In 2024 Wilkinson directed the UK premiere of the Tony-nominated The Sound Inside by Adam Rapp at Traverse Theatre as part of the Edinburgh Fringe. [38] [39]

Operation Crucible is a play by Kieran Knowles about the Sheffield Blitz, the German Luftwaffe bombing of Sheffield, England, during the Second World War.
