The Target Maui Pro 2015 was a highly significant event on the 2015 World Surf League (WSL) Women's Championship Tour (CT). As the final event of the season, it was crucial in determining the 2015 Women's World Champion. Context and World Title Race

The event served as the season-ending competition for the elite women's surfing tour. The 2015 WSL World Title race came down to a head-to-head battle between Hawaiian two-time World Champion Carissa Moore and American challenger Courtney Conlogue.

The World Title was mathematically decided during the early rounds of the competition. In Round 4, Conlogue, who needed a strong finish to keep her title hopes alive, was eliminated by fellow Hawaiian Coco Ho. Conlogue's defeat secured the 2015 World Title for Carissa Moore, making her a three-time World Champion.

Tournament Summary and Final

Following the confirmation of her title, Moore proceeded through the remainder of the event with dominant performances. Honolua Bay delivered excellent conditions with waves in the four-to-six foot range for the final day of competition.

Moore advanced to the Final where she faced Australian surfer Sally Fitzgibbons. The match-up was an explosive, high-scoring affair. Carissa Moore won the event, defeating Fitzgibbons and securing her second consecutive victory at the Target Maui Pro.

Moore delivered a near-perfect performance in the Final, posting an astonishing total heat score of 19.50 out of a possible 20. This score included a unanimous Perfect 10-point ride on a massive barrel wave, which sealed her dominant victory. Fitzgibbons, despite achieving a high score of 17.90, finished as the runner-up.

Aftermath

Carissa Moore's victory at the Target Maui Pro 2015 marked a spectacular conclusion to her season, during which she claimed her third World Championship. The event is remembered not only for Moore's third title but also for her record-setting performance in the Final heat.
