The Boom is a Japanese rock band. Its members are Kazufumi Miyazawa (vocals), Takashi Kobayashi (guitar), Yamakawa Hiromasa, and Tochigi Takao (drums).
D'espairsRay was a Japanese visual kei rock band active from 1999 to 2011. The lineup of Hizumi on vocals, Karyu on guitar, Zero on bass and Tsukasa on drums remained the same, with the group having released four full-length records, three EPs and thirteen singles. Outside Japan, D'espairsRay have toured Europe and North America and had domestic releases in those territories.
The Mavericks are an American country music band from Miami, Florida. The band consists of Raul Malo, Paul Deakin (drums), Eddie Perez, and Jerry Dale McFadden (keyboards). Malo and Deakin founded the band in 1989 along with Robert Reynolds and Ben Peeler. After one independent album, the band was signed by MCA Nashville Records and David Lee Holt replaced Peeler on lead guitar; he would be replaced by Nick Kane shortly after their second MCA album and third overall 1994's What a Crying Shame. The band recorded a total of four albums for MCA and one for Mercury Records before disbanding in 2000. They reunited for one album in 2003 on Sanctuary Records, by which point Perez had become their fourth guitarist, and former touring keyboardist Jerry Dale McFadden became an official fifth member. The lineup of Malo, Deakin, Reynolds, Perez, and McFadden reunited a second time in 2012 for a series of new albums, first on Big Machine Records' Valory imprint and then on Mono Mundo. Reynolds was fired in 2014 and while he was not officially replaced, Ed Friedland is their touring bassist.
D is a Japanese visual kei metal/rock band formed in 2003 by Asagi, Ruiza and Sin, after their previous band Syndrome disbanded. D's music includes heavy guitar songs, as well as melancholic ballads and even medieval music and folk dance from around the world. Their lyrics focus on love, human nature and esoteric themes, such as spirituality and the relationship between persons and nature, and their costumes are closely related to the stories they tell. Their styling matches their music: fantastical, gothic and elegant.
Girugamesh is a Japanese rock band, formed in 2003. Their name is sometimes stylized with a metal umlaut as girugämesh and is derived from the Final Fantasy character. They disbanded on July 10, 2016, although announced a new song, to celebrate label MAVERICK's 40th anniversary as well as to encourage the music scene exhausted by COVID-19, in January 2022.
"Kore ga Watashi no Ikiru Michi" is the 2nd single released by the Japanese pop duo Puffy AmiYumi on October 7, 1996. It sold over 1.5 million copies and was their first #1 hit. They won "Japan Record Award for Best New Artist" in 1996.
Mirror is the second album released by D'espairsRay on April 11, 2007 in Japan and on June 22 of the same year in Europe. The first press limited edition release from Japan came housed in a paper case along with one of five picture cards that feature one of the band members. The album was released in America on March 18, 2008. The album is composed of new songs, previously released singles, and "Closer to Ideal", a track originally published on the bonus CD of the Liquidize photo book. The European edition comes with an additional track and the music videos of "Squall" and "Trickster".
Born is an EP released by D'espairsRay on April 28, 2004. The CD was re-released, excluding the DVD on July 21, 2004 because the album had sold out within a small amount of time.
Terrors is an EP released by D'espairsRay on July 21, 2001. Due to quick sales within a small amount of time, a second pressing was released a year later, along with their EP Sexual Beast. While the first pressing came in a regular jewel case, the reissue had a special sleevecase with new artwork.
Sexual Beast is an EP released by D'espairsRay on June 5, 2002. Brisk sales resulted in a reissue just one month after the initial pressing. While the first pressings of the album were housed in a digipak case featuring the painting The Execution of Lady Jane Grey. The reissue came in a single jewel case, and had different artwork of John the Baptist's head on a Platter.
Be There is the fourth single by B'z, released on May 25, 1990. The song initially peaked at #7 at Oricon Charts in 1990, and later peaked at #3 in 2003 during its re-release. It was the band's first song recorded specifically as a single not connected with any album. The song appears on 1998's Best "Pleasure" and 2008's Best "Ultra" Pleasure compilations. To date, it has sold over 348,000 copies.
Genocide and Mass Murder is the debut album by Japanese metal band Deathgaze. It was their final release featuring vocalist Sou. He left shortly after the release of the album. Only two-thousand copies of this album were pressed.
Ceui is a Japanese singer–songwriter originally from Chiba, Japan, though she grew up in Fukuoka. Ceui's name is derived from the Portuguese word for sky, céu. She has been singing since 2000, but made her major debut in 2007 singing the ending theme for the anime series Shattered Angels, and since then has done songs for other anime including Sola, Sora o Miageru Shōjo no Hitomi ni Utsuru Sekai, Sora Kake Girl, and Aoi Hana. She has released eleven singles and released her major debut album Glassy Heaven on July 22, 2009.
Monsters is the fourth and final album by D'espairsRay, released on July 27, 2010, available for physical distribution and digital distribution on iTunes. The previously released singles, "Final Call" and "Love Is Dead", were included in the track listing. D'espairsRay started their Human Clad-Monsters World Tour soon after the albums' release.
Magia is the 9th single of Japanese girl group Kalafina. The title track is the ending theme to the anime series Puella Magi Madoka Magica. As of 2011, Magia is the best-selling single of Kalafina. A second iteration, "Magia (Quattro)", was used as the ending theme for the film adaptation, Puella Magi Madoka Magica Part 1: Beginnings, and was included on the single release of "Hikari Furu" on October 26, 2012. Mary's Blood recorded a heavy metal cover of the song for their 2020 cover album Re>Animator.

The number of acts increased significantly in the next decade, but only a few saw their material released internationally, including Europe and North America with their pre-established metal bases. Domestic metal saw its commercial peak in Japan in the late 1980s and early 1990s, with the top acts selling millions of records. Many metal bands from the visual kei scene toured and gained recognition in the West in the 2000s. The 2010s saw a boom of all-female metal bands form and gain mainstream attention.
