Maxine Wahome (born 21 December 1995) is a former motorcross rider and current Kenyan racing driver.
Maxine, daughter of retired Kenyan rally driver Jimmy Wahome and sister of Jeremy Wahome, started out as an autocross participant at an early age before scaling up to motocross.
In June 2022, she made her maiden appearance in the Safari Rally held in Naivasha and went on to win the WRC3 class. [1] [2] [3] She was navigated by co-driver Waigwa Murage. Earlier in March 2022, she won the inaugural Lioness Rally in Kasarani [4] [5] [6] while being navigated by Safina Khan.

Maxine came to the limelight again for not very good reasons on December 13th, 2022, for an alleged physical assault on her 50-year boyfriend Asad Khan (rally driver). She was released on bail. [7] On Tuesday, March 07, 2023, Director of Public Prosecution (DPP) Noordin Haji recommended the murder charge after reviewing Ms Wahome's case file and registering satisfaction with the evidence presented to support it. [8] Following the DPP's recommendation, the World Rally Championship (WRC) Safari Rally Kenya dropped Maxine Wahome from the Young Rally Stars Programme. [9]
The Safari Rally is a rally held in Kenya. It was first held in 1953 as a celebration of the coronation of Queen Elizabeth II. The event was part of the World Rally Championship from 1973 until 2002, before returning in 2021. It is historically regarded as one of the toughest events in the World Rally Championship, and one of the most popular rallies in Africa. From 2003, a historical event has been held biannually.
Ian Duncan is one of Kenya's most successful rally drivers. He was Kenyan Rally Champion six times, and achieved outright victory in a World Rally Championship round when he won the 42nd Trustbank Safari Rally in 1994. This was one of seven consecutive top ten finishes in the event from 1990–1996, despite its notorious attrition rate.
The 1973 Safari Rally was the fourth round of the inaugural World Rally Championship season. Run in mid-April in central Kenya, the Safari was a markedly different rally from the other dates on the WRC schedule. About 5,300 km (3,300 mi) of gravel roads comprised the course, though there were not distinct special stages as in other rallies, but instead the course was uncontrolled. The rally was considered very punishing, and thus many of the successful teams were specifically focused on it, leading to a different set of front-runners than led most other rallies. The rally was won by a local driver, Shekhar Mehta.

Tuta Mionki is a Kenyan rally driver, co-driver and navigator who was crowned the Kenya Motor Sports Personality of the year 2018. She also holds the Kenya Motor Sports Federation Awards for the best co-driver of the season 2015 and 2016 (2-wheel-drive). Mionki was the first woman rally driver to join the Kenya National Rally Championship (KNRC) Premier Class Motor Rallying.
