Mayfield High School (MHS) is one of four traditional public high schools in Las Cruces, New Mexico. As of 2023-24, the school serves 1,421 students. [2] The school is a part of the Las Cruces Public Schools district.
MHS was opened in 1965 after Las Cruces High School became overcrowded. It became the second high school in Las Cruces. The school was named after former Las Cruces Public Schools superintendent, Thomas J. Mayfield.
In 1967, the school colors were chosen as green and gold, the Green Bay Packers' colors, who were the National Football League champions in that year. The mascot Trojan was chosen the same year, largely because the University of Southern California Trojans won the NCAA football Championship.[ citation needed ]

Historically MHS has been the rival of Las Cruces High School. The rivalry has existed in since the founding of MHS, with a legacy spanning several decades of heated matches and competition for the best team in the city. There is often enough fan turnout to be played at Aggie Memorial Stadium. [3] The Mayfield-Las Cruces high school football rivalry was voted the 9th best in the nation by rivals.com in 2008, and was ranked the 2nd biggest rivalry by USA today in 2013. [4] The movie "Cruces Divided" was filmed based on this rivalry. [5]
MHS competes in the New Mexico Activities Association (NMAA), as a class 5A school in District 4. In addition to Mayfield High School, the schools in District 4-5A include: Artesia High School, Goddard High School, and Roswell High School. [6] MHS has a long history of athletic successes, including winning the state championship in football in 1971, 1995, 1996, 1998, 2005, 2006, 2007, and 2010. [7]

Hot Springs World Class High School (HSWCHS) is a public magnet secondary school located in Hot Springs, Arkansas, United States. HSWCHS is one of seven public high schools in Garland County and the sole high school of the Hot Springs School District. The school's 1914 facility is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and its academic programs include Advanced Placement (AP) coursework and International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme. It was a segregated school and Hot Springs refused to integrate for more than a decade after Brown v. Board of Education and when it finally did it made Langston High School refuse to provide busing to Hot Springs High School from African American neighborhoods, and largely excluded African American faculty from Langston and limited the activities of African American students.

Coronado High School in El Paso, Texas, United States is located on the west side of El Paso near the intersection of North Mesa Street and Resler Drive. It serves the southern part of west El Paso: east of Interstate 10, from the vicinity of Executive Center Boulevard north approximately three miles to around Coronado Arroyo, a normally dry stream bed running west down from the Franklin Mountains just north of Escondido Drive; and the portion of the Upper Valley which lies south of Country Club Road. Most of the Coronado attendance zone is zoned to Morehead Middle School for grades six to eight. The elementary schools in the Coronado feeder pattern include Dr. Green, L.B Johnson, Putnam, Carlos Rivera, Western Hills, and Zach White. The Upper Valley portion of the Coronado attendance area is zoned to Zach White Elementary and Lincoln Middle School, except for the Buena Vista neighborhood around Interstate 10 and West Paisano Drive, which is zoned to Johnson and Morehead. Dr. Green, L.B Johnson, Putnam, Carlos Rivera and Western Hills elementary schools all graduate into Morehead Middle School.

A&M Consolidated High School, also known as "Consol", is a public high school located in the city of College Station, Texas, United States. It is classified as a 5A school by the UIL. The school is part of the College Station Independent School District located in southern Brazos County. For the 2021-2022 school year, the school was given a "B" by the Texas Education Agency. Until the opening of College Station High School in 2012, A&M Consolidated was the only high school in College Station; the two schools are now crosstown rivals.
V. Sue Cleveland High School, or Cleveland High School (CHS), is a public senior high school of the Rio Rancho Public Schools. It is located in north-western Rio Rancho, New Mexico. V. Sue Cleveland was established in 2009, due to overcrowding at Rio Rancho High School. Enrollment at the school stands at approximately 2600. It is the only school in New Mexico named for a currently-serving school board official, having been named after the current superintendent of Rio Rancho Public School.
William Amar Keys is an American former professional basketball player and basketball coach. At a height of 6'2" and a weight of 210 lbs. (95 kg), he played at the point guard position. He currently is a men's basketball assistant coach at Northern New Mexico College in Espanola, New Mexico.
