Breathe is the fourth studio album by American country music artist Faith Hill. It was released November 9, 1999, via Warner Bros. Records. It won a Grammy Award for Best Country Album. Breathe is one of the most successful country/pop albums to date. It has been certified 8× Platinum by the RIAA, for shipping eight million copies in the US. The album includes the singles "Breathe", "The Way You Love Me", "Let's Make Love", and "If My Heart Had Wings". "Breathe" and "The Way You Love Me" both reached number one on the US Billboard Hot Country Songs chart; the former also peaked at number 2 on the Billboard Hot 100 and was the top pop song of 2000 according to Billboard Year-End. Several of the album's tracks also charted from unsolicited airplay.

Tim DuBois produced the album with Rick Giles and Sixwire member Steve Mandile on all tracks except "I Break Things", which he co-produced with Tony Brown.

Me and You is the third studio album by American country music singer Kenny Chesney. It was released in 1996 via BNA Records. Although its lead-off single "Back in My Arms Again" failed to make Top 40, the album's title track and "When I Close My Eyes" both reached number two on the US Billboard Hot Country Singles & Tracks charts in 1996. The title track was reprised from Chesney's previous album, All I Need to Know. "Back Where I Come From" is a cover of Mac McAnally's 1990 single from his album Simple Life, while "When I Close My Eyes" had been recorded by Restless Heart lead singer Larry Stewart on his 1993 debut album Down the Road, and by Keith Palmer before that. "It's Never Easy to Say Goodbye" had been recorded by singer Wynonna Judd on her eponymous debut album. "Back in My Arms Again" was previously recorded by its co-writer, Lee Roy Parnell, on his 1992 album Love Without Mercy.
Outside the Frame is the second album by Canadian country music singer Paul Brandt. The album has been certified Platinum by the CRIA. The album's four singles — "A Little in Love", "What's Come Over You", "Yeah!", and "Outside the Frame" — all charted in the top ten on the Canadian RPM Country Tracks charts, where they reached #1, #10, #5, and #3, respectively. None of these were Top 40 hits in the U.S., however.

Greatest Hits Volume One is the first compilation album by American country music artist Toby Keith. It was released on October 20, 1998, by Mercury Records and was his final album for the label, where he had been from the start of his career in 1993 to 1998. It features singles from his first four studio albums, as well as the newly recorded tracks "Getcha Some", and "If a Man Answers". Both of these tracks were released as singles, in 1998 and 1999, respectively. While "Getcha Some" peaked at #18 on the Hot Country Songs charts, "If a Man Answers" reached #44 on the same chart, becoming the first single of Keith's career to miss the Top 40. It is Keith's only compilation album not to feature singles in chronological order.

The Coast Is Clear is the fifth studio album by American country music artist Tracy Lawrence. It was released on March 18, 1997 by Atlantic Records. It produced five singles: "How a Cowgirl Says Goodbye", "Better Man, Better Off", "The Coast Is Clear", "One Step Ahead of the Storm" and "While You Sleep". Though the first two singles charted at #2 and #4 on the country chart, respectively, the title track was the first single of Lawrence's career to fall short of the Top Ten. "While You Sleep" missed the Top 40 entirely, and "One Step Ahead of the Storm" failed to chart at all. Lawrence did not release another studio album until Lessons Learned, in 2000.

Stampede is the twenty-fourth studio album by American country music artist Chris LeDoux. It was his first studio album released for Capitol Nashville after the Liberty Records name was retired. "Gravitational Pull", "When I Say Forever" and "Five Dollar Fine" were released as singles but didn't make the top 40. "Stampede" would later be released as a single from his 20 Greatest hits Collection in 1999. The album peaked at #33 on the Billboard Top Country Albums chart.
