The Medicine Hat Charity Classic is an annual bonspiel on the men's and women's World Curling Tour. It is held every October at the Medicine Hat Curling Club in Medicine Hat, Alberta.

John C. Morris is a Canadian curler, and two-time Olympic gold medallist from Canmore, Alberta. Morris played third for the Kevin Martin team until April 24, 2013. Morris, author of the book Fit to Curl, is the son of Maureen and Earle Morris, inventor of the "Stabilizer" curling broom. Morris grew up in Gloucester, Ontario and at the age of five began curling at the Navy Curling Club.
Krista Lee McCarville is a Canadian curler from Thunder Bay, Ontario. McCarville is a four-time Northern Ontario junior champion, the 2003 Winter Universiade silver medallist, a four-time Ontario provincial champion, a four-time Northern Ontario provincial champion, and a two-time Canadian national medallist.
The Curlers Corner Autumn Gold Curling Classic is an annual women's World Curling Tour event held at the Calgary Curling Club in Calgary, Alberta. It was the first Grand Slam event of the season from 2006 to 2014, but is no longer considered one of the official Grand Slams.
The Alberta Scotties Tournament of Hearts is the Alberta provincial women's curling tournament run by Curling Alberta. The winning team represents Alberta at the Canadian women's national championship, called the Scotties Tournament of Hearts.

Brendan Michael Bottcher is a Canadian curler from Spruce Grove, Alberta. Bottcher is a three-time provincial men's champion, and was the skip of the 2021 Canadian men's championship team, having led Alberta to victory at the 2021 Tim Hortons Brier.
The Pumps and Pressure Red Deer Curling Classic is an annual bonspiel, or curling tournament, that takes place at the Red Deer Curling Club in Red Deer, Alberta. The tournament is held in a triple-knockout format. The men's tournament started in 1992 as a skins tournament. The women's tournament started in 1999 as a separate event held a few weeks earlier and merged with the men's event in 2007. The event was held as a World Curling Tour event until 2019 and has been held nearly every year since 2007. Curlers from Alberta have dominated the event on both sides since its inception. The event counts toward the Canadian Team Ranking System, which hands out points based on performances at CTRS events and deals with qualification to the Canadian Olympic Curling Trials.
The 2012 Meyers Norris Penny Charity Classic was held from October 12 to 15 at the Medicine Hat Curling Club in Medicine Hat, Alberta as part of the 2012–13 World Curling Tour. The event was held in a triple knockout format. The purse for the men's event is CAD$37,000, and the winner, David Nedohin, received CAD$10,000. The purse for the women's event was CAD$30,000, and the winner, Lisa Eyamie, received CAD$8,000. Nedohin defeated Randy Bryden of Saskatchewan in the men's final with a score of 5–4, while Eberle defeated Lisa Eyamie in the women's final with a score of 7–2.
Susan Seitz, née Shields is a Canadian curler from Calgary, Alberta. She is former Canadian champion and World championship silver medallist.

Both the men's and women's events were held in a triple-knockout format. The purse for the men's event was CAD$34,000, of which the winner received CAD$10,000, while the purse for the women's event was CAD$30,000, of which the winner received CAD$8,000.
Ronald Michael (Mathias) Anton was a Canadian curler, originally from Medicine Hat, Alberta. He played as third on the Hec Gervais rink that won the 1961 Brier and 1974 Brier. He was the first curler to use a slider on his heel when delivering the stone.

The 2019–20 curling season began in June 2019 and was scheduled to end in May 2020. However, the coronavirus pandemic declared in March 2020 resulted in the cancellation of events and the premature ending of the season.
Nadine Scotland is a Canadian curler from Calgary, Alberta.
Paul Moffatt is a Canadian curler. He currently skips his own team out of Waterloo, Ontario. Moffatt played for team John Morris from 2003 to 2006, where he won the 2004 Players' Championship Grand Slam, were runners up at the 2004 Canada Cup of Curling and were bronze medallists at the 2005 Canadian Olympic Curling Trials. He is also the winner of the 2019 Canadian Curling Club Championships.
