Medicine Range

The Medicine Range is a group of hills and low mountains in southern Elko County, in the northeastern section of the state of Nevada in the Great Basin region of the western United States. [1]

Pancake Range

The Pancake Range is located in east-central Nevada in the United States. The range extends as an irregular sinuous line for approximately 90 miles (140 km) with a roughly north-south trend in Nye and White Pine counties. The range reaches an elevation of 9,240 feet (2,820 m) at Portuguese Mountain. Neighboring ranges include the White Pine, Grant and Quinn Canyon ranges across Railroad Valley on the east-southeast; and Park and Hot Creek ranges across Big Sandy Springs and Hot Creek valleys on the west-northwest. The south end of Newark Valley lies at the extreme north end of the range. The Lunar Crater Volcanic Field lies at the southwestern end of the chain with the Reveille Range to the south.

Lanfair Valley

Lanfair Valley is located in the Mojave Desert in southeastern California near the Nevada state line. It is bounded on the north by the New York Mountains and Castle Mountains, on the east by the Piute Range, and on the south by the Woods Mountains and Vontrigger Hills. Joshua Trees can be found in most of the valley. Elevation is 4,045 feet.

Echo Lake (Nevada)

Echo Lake is a glacial tarn in the Ruby Mountains, in Elko County in the northeastern part of the state of Nevada. It is located at the head of remote Echo Canyon at approximately 40°36.7′N115°26.8′W, and at an elevation of 9830 feet. It has an area of approximately 29 acres, and a depth of up to 155 feet, making it both the largest and deepest lake in the Ruby Mountains. It is the major source of Echo Creek, which after exiting the mountains merges with other streams to form the South Fork of the Humboldt River.

Hidden Lakes (Nevada)

They are located on a shelf on the Ruby Crest above Soldier Basin, at approximately 40°44.6′N115°17.0′W, and at an elevation of 9500 feet. They have a combined area of approximately 9 acres, and a depth of up to 32 feet.

The Soldier Lakes are a cluster of more than a dozen glacial tarns in the Ruby Mountains, in Elko County in the northeastern part of the state of Nevada. They are located on the shelf of Soldier Basin on the eastern side of the mountains, at approximately 40°44.1′N115°16.4′W, and at an elevation of 9100 feet. They have a combined area of approximately 6 acres, and a depth of up to 14 feet.

La Madre Mountains Wilderness

La Madre Mountain Wilderness Area consists of 47,180 acres (19,090 ha) covering a part of Clark County, Nevada, that lies just west of the city of Las Vegas, between that city and Mount Charleston. The area includes La Madre Mountain and several archaeological areas including the Brownstone Canyon Archaeological District. The area is administered by the Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest and the Bureau of Land Management.
