Mehran Mumtaz (born 7 April 2003) is a Pakistani cricketer who plays for Peshawar Zalmi. [1] [2]
Mehran was born on 7 April 2003 in Rawalpindi,Punjab,with family roots in Kohta,Azad Kashmir. [3] He began playing cricket in the streets and neighborhoods of Rawalpindi before joining a local cricket club. [3] He initially started as a fast bowler,citing Mohammad Amir as his inspiration. [3]
Mumtaz worked with his brother in the Sunday market near Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium while pursuing his passion for cricket. [3] [4]
Mehran began his professional cricket career through under-16 cricket during the 2016-17 season. [5] [6] He has since represented Pakistan A cricket team as well. [7]
Mehran made his first-class debut on 17 November 2021,for Northern in the 2021–22 Quaid-e-Azam Trophy. [8]
In December 2021,Mehran was named in Pakistan's team for the 2022 ICC Under-19 Cricket World Cup in the West Indies. [9]
